I don't condone rioting or violence in any shape or form, unless it's justified before hand,
I do however love a powerful photograph of justified rioting rioters.
Thanks for sharing ✌️

Thanks for sharing ✌️ from what I've read, most people there were peacefully protesting. some people starting throwing bottles because the police where trying to push them out of the area, but I don't see this being anything close to a riot (at least yet).... plus - people should be angry

let's not forget too that protest often does lead to change... Umbrella Protest, Arab Spring, and of course There's a great Frontline episode about "Tank Man" - to this day nobody knows who he is (was?), but that photo changed the world

question is what makes the front page, where ... then ask yourself why ?
the image which lasts which did not make the front page ... tells a story itself.

Purposeful provocation - imagine holding an event In a city like Hamburg which is both the richest German city and the home of the biggest collection of anti capitalist groups in Europe.

May have the biggest collection of anti capitalists (I have no idea if that's correct) but it is a long way from being Germanys richest City so I doubt the purposeful provocation

I didn't have to google it Thatch - I lived in Germany for a while - Hamburg was always known as the millionaires city to Germans I knew. Not getting into pedantry.

Meant those of us reading the thread... Fwiw, after my googling I've discovered Germany has a better geographical spread of rich fuckers than anywhere else in Europe...

History, The Lander system and an extended period of targeted regional assistance and industrial intervention have helped - some cities have always been rich but this is Germany FFS- you don't usually get the extremes or the geographical polarisation we see in perfidious albion. Germany didn't exist until the middle of the 19th century when Bismark started to organise things. anyway, if anyone has an interest in architecture, regional history and development of the hood, this is a fantastic watch vimeo.com/meadesshrine:the Magnetic North series that touches on the hanseatic league influence on northern Europe and the rest of his stuff is a fucking delight also
