Quick question guys. Recently sold my original Anthony Ausgang to a gallery. Having never sold and/or shipped a piece of art, I was completely ignorant to how FedEx worked. When I dropped it off to be shipped they charged me over $20. The gallery supplied the ground label. Now I just get an email showing they charged him $109 for shipping & now he's demanding I split shipping or refund him and he'll file a paypal claim & return the painting., which would turn my $400 dollar sell into $325 or nothing while I try selling it again. Wouldn't be so upset except that A. He accused me of not caring since I wasn't the one paying shipping. Yeah ignorance & apathy are completely different. B. Like I said, a $900-$1000valued painting is now going to lose me money. And most importantly C. Being back in school that money has long been spent on bills. Has anyone run into this that can offer advice? If I raise hell w/ FedEx is there any chance of getting him refunded? Part of me just wants to see if I can PayPal credit him & get my painting back & find another buyer after his accusations. Of course @ the same time, even being broke, $55 to split shipping is easier to swallow than trying to sell a painting. Thanks! Any & all advice is appreciated!!! And hope everyone is well. School has kept me away the past couple of weeks. Split the shipping. Life is too short.

Actually patience & a nice attitude on my part got him a total refund from FedEx. They were as pleasant & apologetic as possible. Of course, after doing what he should've done(he was technically the shipper) he's about to get a reply to his email as friendly as the one he sent insulting me. Wonder if I should call him lazy & demand he split the shipping I saved him? Seriously, after this I've learned to be more attentive when sending things. And it made me more appreciative of those that do. Still, emails from a gallery implying you're stupid & don't care are no way to start your day.
