OK, I'll play along and play amateur detective: If there was going to be a Banksy show in Weston-super-Mare, in the supposed birthplace of Banksy, to celebrate the supposed 40th birthday of Banksy, than it would probably be held at the Weston-super-Mare Museum. Interestingly, the museum is now closed for renovation until April 2017. They are also in fundraising mode. Banksy returning to his supposed hometown to help revitalize its museum, seems very Banksy-like. Also, it's in line with the whole Bristol museum show. There is a little informational meeting at the Blakehay Theatre in WSM the AM of July 30th and PM of Aug. 1. Perhaps there will be some info dropped then. Again, I have no inside information at all. I've simply taken the rumors and created a possible scenario. It could also just be a big hoax or a JPS stunt. Time will tell. inthought that his 40 years day were last year .. In the 28 of July ( as now my awesome Brizzle mate from The SSOSVA , a lovely and talented one, Angus Art ! In auctions, I've seen Banksy listed as being born in 1975. |

Insightful exclamation marks aside, I can debunk my own little theory. I asked the WSM Museum and they replied with this: "Hi, we would love to host banksy, but we aren't aware of anything."

On a trip so not been keeping up. But I have heard August and not a Banksy show but more of a Cans type festival in August involving other artists.
Cannot say if true or not but hope he does it. But reliable sources so reckon the concept above is in the game

Its out there and some people know. The downside is that many of the people who now know are the ones that really should be kept away from art with a cleft stick and a cattle prod

25 years? If one were to believe Steve's bio, that would indicate that maybe Banksy is involved. Yes, I've read that Steve and Banksy are no longer in cahoots, but I don't believe everything I read. Maybe this new "Cans style festival" will take place in or around an abandoned fairground or amusement park? There are many in the UK.

Quite the opposite for me, it's the only thing that makes this pastime bearable, that and new Blu pieces! When you are coming from across the pond, having a bit of lead time is helpful. I agree about Blu.
