here's a placeholder logo so we can start getting the word out... feel free to make suggestions or make your own. seems like an auction is probably the best way to do this. everyone cool with that? and rather than having forum members submit pieces, we're contacting artists and galleries directly. I think it will run more smoothly that way. any other charities we should be looking into besides the two I mentioned? any options besides eBay?

I personally feel that an auction will raise less money than a raffle. Thinking of Andy's @castlegalleryni's event for charity, surely more cash was earnt with the raffle. With an auction, once the price hits a certain level the revenue earning potential stops due to it being out of the reach of many.

Have them all be separate? Or first winner pics first, second winner picks next etc

Geez Andy, you generous bastard. Hats off to you. Wish more people were like you in this world.
This is shaping up to something very special. I'll start saving my money now.

sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ think it needs to be eBay if an auction. However still think a raffle could work well. Can be advertised here then we can spread the word on IG FB and Twitter. If we set up a sub board here to put threads on then non members that havent come here before should find it more straightforward.

Cool. I'm sure the guardian will sort it. But if you need any help passing info over there, let me know. Respect to you chaps just like the Nepal fundraiser, this isn't about the forums... it's about helping. so we're more than happy to have UAA on board. I look forward to hearing back from them so we can make this as big as possible Quite right Fed, this isnt about forums or individuals, as a collective putting our heads together we could raise alot of money.

Another Fantastic example of generosity from all involved here. Simply amazing. I personally feel that an auction will raise less money than a raffle. Thinking of Andy's @castlegalleryni's event for charity, surely more cash was earnt with the raffle. With an auction, once the price hits a certain level the revenue earning potential stops due to it being out of the reach of many. I have to echo Iggy's sentiments. Andy's Flags raffle raise over €6,000, and would it have reached even half that in an auction? (I imagine Laz's tenner raffle also did a lot better than an auction would have.) With that in mind, might it be worth reaching out to Laz and seeing if he has any more tenners?

Raffle I think is best way to raise money, would it be best not to allow winners to choose which artist but maybe better to number all the pieces of work and winner gets a lucky dip?

With a raffle, you could select as many winners as prizes and have them pick their selection in order.

could do both maybe? An auction and then pick one item to do the raffle for?
I'm still blown away by everyone's generosity... a Pure Evil canvas now too? Speechless

If we did do a raffle what would work best, one raffle for all pieces or seperate ones for each?

Just one raffle, and then do a live draw using random number generator... Before the draw, a list is published with each ticket number and the name of who owns it. Ticket number is based on the order of ticket sales.
We are now drawing the ticket for the Borf, winner is 103. We are now drawing the ticket for Snik, winner is 88. Etc...
This is how we have done it on other forums I've been on.

Just came online and caught up with this thread, massive respect for for getting this organised and for the artists and galleries for the donations. Personally think the raffle idea is prob the best to raise most money. Andy @castlegallery wow! So generous sir . Aza seems like a great idea for the raffle
