Some truly amazing pieces showing up on the donations thread. Let's hope we can make even a small difference to the families and individuals stuck in the middle of a terrible situation.

how do I donate? and when is this fully gonna kick off? Is there a hard time set for all this to kick off? Also, are you guys planning on putting out a thread covering the detail of how all this will go down for us planning to donate and participate in the raffle and auctions? New to the forum and a fundraiser of this sort.

New to the forum and a fundraiser of this sort. no definite start day or time yet. we're aiming for next Tuesday, but that's contingent on receiving artwork from the remaining donors. Once it's up, you can click the "Syria Fundraiser" thread link in the header on this site, and below each picture will be a link to either the ebay listing or the raffle. there will also be a new graphic, with our website and the charities involved listed, to share on social media platforms

question for everyone - is it possible/okay to list something on eBay and have the buyer be invoiced for freight charges after the auction?
basically we don't want any of the people who donated to be out of pocket for freight, but we won't know the actual freight charges until the items are packed up and ready to ship (some of the donations are huge canvases)

For the last auction the shipping charges were on the auction from the start. I think it would be best for the donators to get quotes so there are no surprises for the buyers. Anyone in the UK can use this site: www.wedelivertheworld.comI always use these guys now and it is easy to figure out the prices for UK, Europe and USA.

Silly question. Which pieces will be auctioned and which pieces will be raffled?

I've just done a quote from the UK to New York and also to L.A. for a canvas sized 90x60 and the price is the same But yeah I see where you're coming from, it's a bit tricky!

I think that is what Fed wants to do, but is it possible in ebay?

I think you might have some problems though if the buyer is not aware of shipping costs before buying.
I get quite a few enquiries from the USA for a canvas, but they are shocked when I tell them the price and choose not to buy.

There is also the reminder of import VAT, Customs duty etc if it's coming to UK from outside EU. As long as everyone is aware of this, I know most here will be, but there will be some that wont realise that they will get a letter asking for 25% of the value of the item to be paid before it is released...

Why don't you ask someone like Freight logistics to take over all the shipping. Put charges up for each piece etc. then they can manage the lot including invoicing etc for shipping payable by the buyer
Might be easier than the artists getting lumbered with it
