Drake Curated An Art Exhibition for Sotheby's Entitled "I Like It Like This"
In a partnership that allows Drake to explore the connection between art and music, he has curated an exhibition for Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Department called I Like It Like This. The concept of the collaboration is to draw a bridge between the prestigious and sometimes exclusionary world of art with the youth-driven culture behind modern-day music. Featuring black American contemporary artists including Kara Walker, Jean-Michel Basquiat among others, the pieces are accompanied by iPads preloaded with music selected by Drizzy that work to compliment the pieces in a sensory amalgamation of expression. To get a better understanding of the exhibition, listen to the curator himself talk about it in the video above and if you want to check it out, it is open to the public at Sotheby’s New York City until June 12.

Artist Bruce Shapiro has invented a kinetic machine that creates beautiful designs with sand. Dubbed the “Sisyphus,” the apparatus uses strong magnets to pull metal balls across a layer of sand to produce intricately detailed mandalas. The machine’s constant movement enables it to produce an infinite amount of patterns consisting of fine zigzags and undulating lines, all of which are completely symmetrical.
Shapiro’s body of work focuses on “Motion Control,” or, computer-controlled movement, which is primarily used for industrial production and design rather than art. His experimentation with such technology is what led him to conceive the “Sisyphus” and other similar pieces.
"Motion Control" is an industry term for computer-controlled movement in applications like robotics and CNC. This technology has revolutionized industrial production and design, but until recently was extremely expensive and complex.
I have spent the past 25 years dedicated to exploring motion control as a new medium for artistic expression, building CNC art tools and kinetic sculpture that combine my love of art, science and education.

Lek & Sowat Lithography enhanced by hand, this is a mixture of 19th century know-how and contemporary art. If you want to know how an art print is made, now you know. For their second edition, the on-line Sold Art gallery chose to publish a lithography enhanced by hand by Lek and Sowat. Both French artists stayed three days in the studio of URDLA in Villeurbanne in order to create this print named " Paper Trail ". The film tells the process of creation on 2 lithographic stones of 200 kilos each. Thanks to a mixture of 19th century know-how and contemporary art, of calame and roller, Lek and Sowat left a track on the tricky paper. The experiment is the heart of the work, nothing was planned or defined in advance. The mistakes become interesting, their movements are free. After printing, the artists paint over each copies, creating unique works of art at an affordable price. Available on soldart.com/oeuvres/lek-sowat-paper-trail-lithographie/

I remember and drove by quite a few of the Vegas billboards including seeing the mannequins. It may be art but there were a couple close calls with serious accidents on the highway
