I've made no secret of my left-wing leanings. Despite that, it's great to see somebody 'new' entering UK politics, offering a different choice. From reading certain papers like the telegraph [the tory bastion of middle England] over the last few weeks, he certainly has provoked a strong reaction, so much so that they seemed to be running scared. Roll on the next election. Let's politicise the silent majority.
Go on, what do you think?

I think he is stuffed. One way or another, he will not be PM at the next election, maybe not even the LP Leader.
but
This is an important move, whatever your leanings may be.We have witnessed the fall of the libdems - who are up there with Jimmy Savile in terms of brand success- the SNP decimating the LP on a neo-european social democrat platform- not to mention the emergence of reactive politics as a paradigm , as exemplified by the current incuments. Where a prinicpile free mindset exists only to prolong its own existence, irrespective of the supposed ethos of the party - where the only action is a considered reaction based on public opinion and manipulated vox poppery.
What Corbyn represents is a discussion really. A discussion that has to take place and questions the accepted realpolitik of the tightly fought for middle ground. An area that would be described as "Taupe" in a B&Q paint section.
Like the latest pope, this is a conversation opener. Like the Pope, its baby steps. Both will be unlikely to succeed, but they open up discussion areas.
Whateverr happens, this will be a leadership defined by its use of the press and wider media. Its going to be interesting again, which is not a bad thing

Must say been quite weird at a distance as he has taken a real kicking from both people in the party past and present as well as the media and yet still won easily.
Did not know and had never really heard of him till this. I have been impressed with him when I have heard him speak although not necessarily agreed with the realities of a lot he has said
Think it will be very interesting to have for the want of a better phrase a belief based politician in position such as this.
Not really sure how the Tories or labour will cope with him as he is going to challenge them. Could be very interesting how people react to him and what he says etc will certainly make things more interesting for awhile
But good luck to him as he seems really genuine.....which is a novelty units self these days

This needed to happen so Labour can start working out who they really are . Unfortunately who they really are, whatever your political views, wont get them enough votes from the so-called middle Britain.
New Labour got in because: a) the Tories had really fucked up and b) because Labour became tory-lite.
I'm a positive person but believe that the majority of people put themselves and their family before the "greater good". That's why the Tories historically do well, they " look after" the economy, get taxes down and put more in your pocket. And that's exactly why germany are taking in 800000 refugees and we are taking in 4000 a year til 2020. I'd be amazed if the Tories didn't win the next two elections.
A new way forward was sort of happening with collalition politics but that's gone to pot now. If the combination of SNP not having success/lim-dems keeping seats had occured, we'd now have a lab/lib coalition. That's not going to happen within a generation.
Think we're fucked.

While it remains to be seen whether he can lead Labour to a general election victory, I hope that at the very least he causes some problems for the Tories and actually attacks them on their lies and policies. I'm genuinely excited about politics for the first time in a long time.

Agreed plip an opposition that opposes and ignores the public school pmq bollocks and engages it's brain is all I want at this juncture

Very sad to see Stella Creasey has now gone to the back benches due to Corbyn winning the leadership, the amount of relatively decent Labour MP's who have now resigned is a bit disconcerting to me

Understand his massive majority from active labour but not sure left of centre will win an election unless the Tories do something drastic which I doubt they will as very little drastic left to do so it might well play into the hands of the Tories.

fuck 'em
if they cannot abide by the will of their party membership, then they should fuck off elsewhere.
the sense of entitlementat this stage of the campaign is utterly mouth dropping. This is not so much chucking their toys out of the pram, it is pushing the pram over. shitting on the pink blankets and letting down the tyres.
We do not care what out party members think, we would sooner sabotage the party itself than let an non oxbridge PPE graduate into our ranks
