They were one of the first bands I saw live – quite a lively evening as I recall... One of my faves – great video (or whatever they're called these days) too. Next step SPK?

Serious fucking eyeopener, for a 16 year old bunking off school Terrifying and beautiful at the same time! I was posting BB King at the same time. My cousin was close to Genesis. Moz worked at a occultist shop in Leeds, The Sorcerors Apprentice, and knew them through that. Small world, wouldn't want to paint it... Sweet Jesus! SPK! There's a noise I haven't thought of in a loooong time. I think it explains my later love of White Zombie/Rob Zombie, Ministry etc...

Lots of fiddling around with chainsaws and angle-grinders on stage.

I do not know test dept, but am intrigued that they and The The both had songs about a 51st State in 1986. Are they, infact, related? I think we should be told... (Autocorrect turned 'infact' to 'infected'. The plot thickens...
Anyway, as we know, all modern music is shit. All of it. Every single note and demi, hemi, semi quaver. Which is why I like my new music like my old music. Two best live acts I have seen in, well, fucking years and the mighty JJR have split. So sad...

All time classic. Love the drawings (song titles) on the record label – reminiscent of Dr Plip's works? World class choice Still Hate Thatcher!

I remember seeing it around 1990 at a pals house, in Bradford. There's a lot more to that story, actually, but most of them are locked up or dead. They never tell you that in adult education. 'You're gonna grow hairs on your balls. Oh, and fucking awful shit will befall you and/or people you know'.

Indeed I do 'BBQ', Alex Winter (Bill or Ted – can never remember which one of them) directed it. Who's locked up or dead?
