Asange did not seek asylum because of the rape allegations. He sought asylum because Swedish prosecutors would not assure him he would not be extradited on an unrelated matter to the United States.

As you commented!! I see a work as a conversation with the creator. I don't want to speak to people who beat women. I don't want to speak to white nationalists (Charles Krafft). Post his FB windfall and after listening to DVDASA, I had enough. I suspect heavy drug use, and allowing hangers-on to influence him in various ways, turned him into something that turned me off. I've since sold all of the prints I had in my collection (some for charity) and moved on.
Recently, he seems on the mend, but the damage is done for me. The way he bragged about his rapey behavior on DVDASA was sick. Despite my previous feelings, I did not believe he was telling a fairytale. I believe it happened just as he said.
I still have one original watercolor, but it's not on the wall and I am waiting for the best time/venue to sell it.
