NOW on BBC 1-
Alan Yentob meets the celebrated Turner Prize-winning artist, whose Angel of the North has become an iconic image of contemporary public scuplture in Britain. In an interview reviewing his career to date, Gormley explains how his strict Catholic upbringing, and his subsequent search for enlightenment in India, influenced his decision to become a sculptor. The discussion is interspersed with archive footage from Gormley's various workshops, detailing the creative processes that went into the production of his most celebrated works, as well as examinations of his recent installations in Paris, Florence and on Lundy Island
