One other thing. Stolenspace is owned by Dface. Which makes him a fucking cunt. Anyone got a problem that, or should I kiss his arse as well 'cos he puts pen to fucking paper...? As pretty much everyone is a "fucking cunt" to you it kinda loses it's impact. In fact the term becomes quite sad and boring!!

NEWS
Charles Krafft 'Conjugal Visit' exhibition has been cancelled (10/11/2015 @ 19:16:16)
Whilst we have listened diligently to Charles Kraffts explanations surrounding the controversy of past interviews, it was naive of StolenSpace to think that this matter had been resolved and that the controversy would not follow him.
Both physical and verbal threats have been made against the gallery and our staff, and although StolenSpace does not believe in censorship or cyber bullying, we do respect the opinions and feelings about such sensitive matters. We therefore feel it is appropriate that the show is cancelled in light of this.

The police requested that SS gallery reconsider, on behalf of concerned minority groups.
There was protest from within, from the galleries own staff, a few of whom were audibly saddened and shocked to learn of the artists connections.
For some it is simply an art show. For others it is to give a platform to a Nazi apologist and holocaust denier.
To do this at all would be misguided, to do it so soon after armistice day and in the heart of East London, defies belief.
News of this spread throughout the UK, leading to a number of complaints to the police, and direct to the gallery. The complaints were from both individuals and organizations.
As for threats, verbal and physical to staff, if this is really true, then that is indeed a police matter.
Where is the evidence for this assertion?
You will not find a single case.
Fortunately, people have proved themselves better than that , maintained their dignity, and behaved responsibly, and avoided stooping to that level.
The only shame is on SS, not its staff, who are good natured inocent people, but the gallery director, who made a gross error of judgement.

good on you jay. IME making errors of judgement isn't a mendacious or opprobrium invoking act in itself, but the way in which we deal with it is where we should be judged.

If there were no actual threats of violence, then that would be a shameful statement for StolenSpace to make.

Jesus, what a bunch of queens! Look at the banner above the board ... the one with the woman shitting a graffitist.
Or the avatars decrying censorship of social media.
If you don't like the art, don't buy it.
There are a lot of shows in London. Pick another one. Or your nose.

The above statement was agreed upon by a group, which included Cai, who up until a few days ago was a member of this forum. Artists attempting to be shocking is hardly news, and it would of been better if people had just ignored this, rather than give it any kind of oxygen of publicity. I guess social media can seem perverse at times.
As more people became aware, we felt that there was the possibility of a real threat brewing. If the show had gone ahead, then we had reason enough to believe that it would of received coverage within the media of certain communities. If that were to happen, it would of been a matter of hours rather than days, before the main stream media picked up on it . It would of been unavoidable, the tabloids would of had a field day, so close to Armistice.
We have been in talks with The London Metropolitan Police, and spoken to the Gallery. We discussed the situation with The Jewish News, the Council For Racial Equality, and consulted our own criminal lawyer. We have reason to believe that other groups had been informed, including Search Light and Class War.
The gallery were asked to reconsider, as the police shared our concerns of possible public disorder. We, alongside members of the Jewish community have done our best to protect the gallery, staff, and wider public from any potential harm. If the gallery and staff have been threatened, it is a police matter. Where is the evidence for this. Speak to the police, there isn't any, its bull.
The London metropolitan police have done a good job liaising with people, and monitoring various sources of information and communication, Including amongst our own kids, unfortunately NBF and UAA too.
We were laughing today about Jamie Reid's swastika eyed queen, and all that Seditionaries stuff that came out in the seventies, its old hat as they say. But we felt as a group that this wasn't quite the same. The Jewish media were already on to it. Using Nazi stuff in a truly ironic way, and taking the mick is one thing, making Nazi propaganda is another.
I have no real interest in street art, so I'm done here. All the best to some of you guys though.

But all the talk above of "we" and "the police" and monitoring and all these terest groups and watchdogs etc...also makes me very uneasy. But it's good that you throw in a bit of Jamie Reid and expressions like "old hat" in the end, you had me worried there for a moment. Edit : oh and that thing about Nomad being here but not anymore, why do I get the impression he is feeding the sharks or burried in the desert ?

I hate to say this, but I get the feeling all this weirdness is now becoming it's own show for CK. or at least he'll say it is.
I'm going to try to turn away and not give him what he wants, which is clearly attention

In 2010 his work was considered 'subversive’. ...'it should be ignored'
It'll either be ignored or excused in the name of 'art’.
'disagree with SS exhibiting such scum'
“SOCIAL MEDIA CENSORSHIP PROTECTING YOU FROM REALITY”
'There should be no place in 'the arts' for people like this.'
"If your work is defensible, then defend it.” - The validity of his work is evident here in this thread.
“I don’t like Racist art” - Most in this thread seem to be overtly racist in all respects.
'Organised Jewry’ - CK never used that term.
"But all the talk above of "we" and "the police" and monitoring and all these terest groups and watchdogs etc...also makes me very uneasy. “ - Yet you still find no place for his art? Is he also a ‘follower’ of Charles Manson? What boils beneath will continue to grow in intolerant power.
"if you are reading this you fascist cunts, I hope you choke on your fucking dinners” - What is fascism to you?
Your brand of street art is ultra-conformist, ethnographically derivative, politically passe, effete bourgeois, ahistorical, consumerist, regressive, pseudo-thuggish, vapid and, with few exceptions, devoid of authenticity. Far from being low brow, it is headless. You’re malleable, hipster prols when it comes to bleating in support of the organized censorship of the concession-stand commodified Art World, in order to seek market monopoly for the sort of trite, gentrified editorial illustration that your "street art" has come to embody.

saw that comment on FB earlier, but it had a more alarming last paragraph...
"Street Art Sucks. It is ultra-conformist, ethnographically derivative, politically passe, effete bourgeois, ahistorical, consumerist, regressive, pseudo-thuggish, vapid and, with few exceptions, devoid of authenticity. Far from being low brow, it is headless.
One should never underestimate the wigger rabble in being malleable, hipster prols when it comes to bleating in support of the organized censorship of the concession-stand commodified Art World, in order to seek market monopoly for the sort of trite, gentrified editorial illustration that "street art" has come to embody.
Banksy's Dismaland™ is a volunteer Auschwitz where politically correct "street artists" can buy the Mark of the Beast, limited edition. Go get gassed on your own cans of spray paint you trendy, totalitarian, late-capitalist, ironically goyish, collective slaves. The Street Art pose aside; truly glorified vandalism is your house being firebombed with you in it."
