City of Colours festival 2016
City of Colours Street Art Festival is one of the UK's largest celebrations of graffiti, street art and urban culture, and we are returning to the streets of Digbeth on 18 June 2016. This multi-cultural, award-winning event, brings together communities from across the city and wider, transforming the area into one of the world's largest outdoor art galleries, and what's more it's FREE!
We have invited over 120 street artists to join us to paint, draw and exhibit their work on as many walls and other canvases as we can find! The event will be a platform for promoting emerging talent alongside more established artists.
An event for all the family, the festival will be spread over 15 venues, with ten music stages, a large range of exciting performances and participatory activities, huge market hall and a range of tasty street food. Everyone will have the chance to get involved.
We will be bringing you ten music stages, hosted by some of Birmingham’s biggest promoters. There will be a diverse range of DJ's and bands featuring live hip-hop, reggae, dub, jungle to jazz, funk, soul, drum n bass and much more
There will be a huge range of exciting performances from beat-boxers, b-boys and spoken word artists to rap battles and artists painting in live graffiti and illustration battles.
Cinema screenings, workshops in graffiti art, break-dance, DJing, spoken word, retro gaming, screen-printing, and our huge doodle wall will be available throughout the weekend for everyone to get involved in.
The market hall will be returning with local independents selling their creations, and our huge affordable art sale will ensure you can take a piece of City of Colours 2016 home with you.
The festival will reflect the vibrancy of its people and its places, bringing together different communities, family and friends of all ages to enjoy the electric atmosphere that is City of Colours!
