I've recently been noodling about possible definitions of street or urban art. Does it matter if the artist has done works on walls? Unauthorized works on walls? And, very randomly, I started thinking about what, if anything, in my definition of urban art would exclude somebody like Christo.

Urban art's a wide umbrella. And it has even turned up being sold on umbrellas.

For me street is for want of a better word/s more pure where an artist is more street than gallery and likewise more illegal type walls than authorized outdoor art.
Where as Urban for me is the opposite legit walls and predominantly gallery / print based.
Not saying this correct but that's the diff for me and I do think there is a difference between Street and Urban. So a prime example of each would be say SweetToof as a Street Artist and say Martin Whatson as an Urban Artist.
