That time Kevin Smith tried to make a Prince documentary: I enjoyed that. Cheers.

Can artists please try to refrain from creating tribute pieces they then plaster across social media to get interest in their work? It's crass and opportunistic. You liked prince just say you did.simple. Pricks. I feel if someone wants to pay tribute to anyone who has passed should do it in the best way that they can, and if art is the best skill an artist has then why shouldn't they use it to pay tribute, selling pieces is a different matter altogether but don't be against creating pieces for tribute, it's like hating someone for posting a RIP picture tribute on their social media to appear more popular for their love of Prince, please refrain from being negative and just celebrate the life of an icon I don't mean to be rude but, fuck off. Posting a RIP tribute also, fuck off. Please refrain from being negative? Double fuck off. When Betjeman died, he wasn't celebrated with fucking limericks... Sweet fucking Jesus...

Telling people to fuck off? Much better tribute, smh Wasn't a tribute. Was a response to the nonsense you posted. You've got to remember that even though this post may not be in the art section this is an art forum, with so many artists and art enthusiasts... I'm sorry if I feel the best way that I can pay tribute is through my art... You wouldn't get this in any other form of art... when MJ died there were songs about him, just like when many famous people pass there are songs and other forms of art created as tribute, why does art have to be criticised... on an art forum? You wouldn't get people hating P Diddy for singing 'I'll be missing you' when B.I.G died, it only elevated his greatness

So, you're the art equivalent to P Diddy?

So, you're the art equivalent to P Diddy? No, but it shows that this sort of criticism exists in art and not in music etc... does someone have to be as famous or successful as P Diddy to py tribute?

They do when he is the quoted equivalent. If someone were to take a cheap Casio keyboard and chant "Bigee, Bigee!" It would be met with the appropriate derision. Shit art (I include your piss poor fourth form efforts) should be treated accordingly. Prince was a fucking genius. Fuck you and your equivalents for trying to ride his coat tails. Shame on you...

I understand what you're trying to say... I'm not a big shot in the art world but art is subjective, something you don't like someone else will... and if you're just here to start picking out negatives during the death of someone then please (to quote you) 'fuck off' we don't need your negativity

Lol and releasing straight after the death doesn't? But the prints were already done! I'll just agree to disagree. I hate any fucker cashing in on someone's death, but I thought it was wrong for PE to be used as an example when there are many worse examples out there. You're entirely missing the point, it doesn't matter when the prints are done. The problem is simply choosing to RELEASE them at that particular , the correct response should be, 'oh shit bowies died I best leave this print release a good long while because I'll look like an opportunistic twat' instead of 'sweet, I'll sell some more of my terrible idea because people want to remember himin a half assed way'

Who's 'we'? I only speak for myself, who do you think you speak for? I speak for all those who want to give this icon the fitting tribute he deserves, not by arguing but by celebrating his life... I'm sorry that my art caused such a reaction amongst those who I believe appreciate art, but oh well, I'll take my post down because I'm clearly not in the correct place to be paying a tribute... Rather than arguing can't we just celebrate his life?

I thought that was a bit uncalled for and don't see that happening. If it does I'll eat my words and apologise(and look like a nob!) There are many lowlife 'artists' out there, that will do anything for a quick buck, just I don't believe he's one of them.

In the same way that Prince went from Prince to 'symbol' to Prince. Puff Daddy has gone from Puff Daddy to P Diddy to Puff Daddy. So let's all just bear that in mind.

I got rid of it because it wasn't met with a good reception You capitulate too easily dear boy. Had I not been fiercely provoked by Baynes, both by his words and by his posting of a message using the stick figures of dancing men, I might never have gone on to unearth the truth of the disappearance of Garcia and Henderson.

Just went out and bought Prince's greatest hits as a mark of respect ...
Annoyingly, it cost £25, but when I got home, I partied like it was £19.99
