I thought that i had watched pretty much everything about C215, but once again this forum surprise me with this post i love his work. Had the chance to buy a print and recently an original by him. His show "douce France" was wonderfull (but can't be exported i'm worry because it's all about portraits of french, and not necessarly known in foreign countries) Well, Just thanks for this vid. I'd like to speak more and create topics but language is a bit a problem. I fear to not be well understood and more than that to not express really what i think (maybe i'm wrong)... Edit: maybe i should have gone to FB before here ... Then i would have seen this vid but this forum is higher and higher in my "to visit list" when i'm connecting to my cyber life

Your English is excellent, n0ts0lid. I wish I could speak a second language half as well as you do. I agree about the work in the ' Douce France' show perhaps not working as well for people outside France; I thought that this piece was of Jean-Marie and Marine Le Pen but I'm hoping it's either of someone else or that I'm misunderstanding the contempt of the show. Generally speaking though, I do prefer is work showing the poor and disenfranchised rather than famous people that you too much of anyway, but I love that his style is very much is own and you'd never confuse his work as anyone else's. Here's some pieces that I've spot over the years:

C215 did not make stencils about people he liked in this show but wanted to show some people who represent France (sadly for few of those) . I don't want to speak for him but that what i've read. For this piece in particular it's a bit sarcastic .i'll try to explain... Jean Marie LePen once told that the gas chambers during WWII were a detail of the History. And this piece is sprayed on an "gaz de france" installation (gaz de France is the national gas producer).

Ahh! Thank you, that makes a lot more sense. I didn't understand the Gaz de France reference either, so I'm glad you've explained that. I'm sure it's common knowledge in France, but my favourite fact about the Front Nationale is that despite all their ' France for the French' rhetoric, they ended up having to sell their headquarters to a Chinese university

C215 will be releasing a monograph called, appropriately enough, ' La Monographie' in the autumn. The book will be 304 pages and feature large scale photographs of his work from over the last 10 years and a detachable stencil! The monograph will be 35€ but if you pre-order from the publisher before 7 June you can get 30% off!

Is it written in french and / or english? It's written in both French and English; the French is on the left hand side of the page and the English translation is on the right hand side of the same page.
