I'm happy to announce our second Q&A. This one is with Bristol legend John Nation. For those who don't know, John ran the Barton Hill Youth Club and was very influential in the development of the Bristol graffiti scene and helped artists such as Banksy, Nick Walker, and countless others get their start.
Post your questions here and they'll be sent over to him in a week or so.

Out of all the artists you came in contact with in the late 80's/early 90's, which, if any, did you expect to take off and gain a following outside of Bristol?
Are you surprised that a group of kids painting walls in a small city helped usher in a new major art movement?

I find it difficult to ask something to someone who had so much influence on the art we all appreciate and enjoy. Perhaps he could shed some light on his thoughts about the (absurd) prices being payed for canvases / prints and even pieces of wall that used to be free for us all to watch and enjoy?

Why is it that street/urban artists cannot draw feet properly, or even hands? (Not that it is part of your business or in your responsibility ... but why?)

Which artist, that you've worked with, has gone on to surprise you the most and why?
What's the most important piece of advice you would give to a 'youth' today?
What was your proudest moment whilst working at the Barton Hill Youth Club?

Good stuff. John used to run coaches to raves back in the day. Sure I can come up with a couple of questions.

How did driving a Scania Irizar (not the tri-axle that had the door glass reduced from double to single due to misting up and then went on to fog up every time it rained, reducing visibility to zero) compare with the hateful Volvo 9700? Which one would John lease if he was forced to?

Gotta say – this forum is great!

Who was the most talent artist back in the day? And why do you think so?
Do you still keep in touch with the 'kids' ?

Was everyone in Bristol aware of what was going on in NYC and other cities, or were you "working in a bubble" ?

Was everyone in Bristol aware of what was going on in NYC and other cities, or were you "working in a bubble" ? Bristol was influenced by what was going on in the US. A great book to get is 'Children of the can'. Documents Bristol graffiti very well.

Was Robbo also in play at that time in Bristol? Did Nick Walker, Inkie, FLXone and Banksy paint together as a group?

Maybe a better question would be - In the pre-internet age, how were you kept aware of what was happening in street art outside of Bristol?

You coined the term "aerosol art". Was that meant to legitimize street art to the authorities, or distinguish it from common graffiti tagging?

What do you think of the current Bristol scene and particularly it would be good to know how you think and hope it will evolve under a backdrop of increased gentrification in areas such as Stokes Croft?
