We allow ourselves to post on this forum to tell you about a project that might interest you and that, we hope, would benefit from your support. Will you accept to spread the information to your network?
As you may have heard, the street artist Zoo Project died in Detroit in 2013, at 23 years old. The tragic conditions of his death have been widely spread through the press, sometimes overshadowing his work. We have decided, his friends and collaborators, to shed light on his work again and more widely evoke his personnality, his way of working, engaged, independant, and free.
In Spring 2018, we will organize a vast tribute that will articulate around three axes :
The edition of eight books around Zoo Project's work : notebooks facsimilies, photo books, sketchbooks, abandonned projects...
Art installations/exhibitions « Potemkine ». Adaptation of the installation made in 2010 by Zoo Project in Odessa, in several public spaces. (for now, the places considered are the stairs of St Charles Station in Marseille and the « 104 » in Paris.)
The national release of the movie It's quite good to be crazy (C'est assez bien d'être fou) . The idea is to federate, around each projection place, several themes related to the movie (such as street art, travelling, Russia...) but also art schools, high schools, middle schools, etc. to accompany the movie and animate the projections. A young public version of the film, along with an educational file, will invite to make certain sequences of the movie.
A lot of other events on which we are working are to come, thanks to the participation of a growing number of people integrating the project.
Because we want to be consistant with Bilal's way of thinking, and because we agree with it, every event will be conceived in complete independence. The exhibits will be in public places. The edition project (8000 books in total) will not be sold, but offered to the establishments of public consultation such as media libraries, college libraries, high school libraries, etc. Finally, the movie will be auto-distributed.
We have been working on this tribute for over a year, all of us voluntarily, and our enthusiasm does not weaken but our resources do. We need to quickly reunite the funding we miss.

As you understood, it is absolutely not a lucrative project and we ask a financial participation only to make the events exist as we dreamt them, so we can make this tribute not a simple memory rememberance but a creative gesture, furiously alive, furiously exhilarating.
