I hadn't thought about regional TV indents for a long time. Thames was a good one and I loved the Anglia one, particularly when followed by, '...and now, live from Norwich, it's Sale of the Century!'. Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and Granada all pretty shit. ATV was a good one as was LWT, the one that looked like a flowing river.

In slightly unrelated and yet still related news here are a couple of pictures from the wall I did last week for Hit the East in Belfast. This is using the bbc test card screen print. Leo

Leo, you could have posted your sales on here too. linkI just wish I had space to hang H&W cheers chainsaw... I didnt want to go balls out mental and start posting on random threads Seriously cheers for the heads up on that comic. Many years ago I wanted to be a comic artist and did spend a lot of time drawing tiny comic frames before realising how much work it actually took to make something decent. I have been reading Saga and Maus (again) and bought Hewligans haircut the other day. It is great falling back in love with a medium that I left behind.

I used to run a comic shop, many years ago. I liked the B&W indie comics, as well as certain writers and artists, who at the time were less mainstream.
My signed prints from those days are now all stored away, due to the young kids.
If I had the wall space, you have just offered two pieces I'd love to hang. At the moment I have no clear walls though, and I'm trying not to buy to store, but just to hang.
I hope they sell well for you.

Forbidden planet in Bristol used to stock loads of local stuff and they moved shop and basically stopped stocking them. Dublin is a little kinder to local talent but in Belfast any talent just ups and moves to London. What and where was your shop? I do mourn the loss of independent comic shops... they were basically art galleries full of weird and wonderful things. ps. I am glad you like my work Leo

Creating art.... school... had a couple of bits exhibited years ago (30 ish)
Further education was arty/creative but not "art" and way too technical and intensive to do much else. Since then there had not been much done, until the kids came along and i went part time, trying to get them to create has go me wanting to do someting again, while i try to teach them how to use a brush and the technical technique bits.
Interest in art has never really left since i was a kid, just the types changing.

aye tis a funny old world. I did a workshop with someone the other day who had wanted to do art and their parents made them go study law instead. Now in their retirement they are getting back into art. have you seen the documentary about 2000ad that came out a few years ago?

Probably missed the docu. Although one of my old customers did do Slaine for a bit The modern urban art wasn't on my radar in the 80's, and little quality stuff is to be seen in my local enviroment since. Thats why things like UP fest and these forums are so good, loads of creative stuff to be seen. New art to be exposed to. There is a building site in Leeds city centre, surrounded by hoardings, would be an ideal venue to get a street art exhibition going. I just wish I knew how to go about it and how to get the contacts to organise it. <<< that was the first bit of pottery glazing I have done, all because of encouraging the kids to be creative. Apparently I was the only person to mix glaze colours they have ever had. On a flipping garden gnome, but its made me want to experiment more.

the doc is really easy to find online. I'll find you a link if you like? Re the building in leeds means phoning loads of people till yo get the right one and hope they are nice. basically no one wants to pay rates and if you can find a way round that you are golden. i like your gnome glaze. go bigger. think jeff koons!
