Sterling for 49 million? Discuss... British players are always overpriced (andy Carroll!!) id say sterling is worth 25m as he is only 21. I don't really rate him either, but again he's only 21. I am enjoying my team Swansea in the premier, it won't last forever and it's crazy money and yes a lot of mercenaries. As a club we are doing things the right way financially, invested well and now have category 1 games/academy set up so hopefully produce another Gareth bale, but it's all about the $ and agents taking the piss with demands. First year we weren't paying more than 20k per week wages, now 5th year in prem and we have a player on 80k per week.. But now have a much stronger squad as everyone will be desperate to stay up as the TV money increases big time next year. I remember moaning 12 years ago that we were paying 1500 pounds a week for a shit striker we signed lol!! Just read Liverpool spending 32m on benteke? This will be Brenda's last year in charge I think. Be nice to see a surprise outsider making the top 4, love it when small clubs beat big sides, we did the double last year over utd and arsenal which was amazing fingers crossed for this season.

Sterling for 49 million? Discuss... Well done Liverpool for getting that money. I agree that he is probably in the 20-25mil range in my mind but being 21 and also an English Player and with the homegrown player squad rules it's always going to run a premium. Man City are taking a chance on him at 49mil hoping he will develop into that 50mil + player under them, i would have gone for Kevin De Bruyne and left Sterling but looks like they are going to get both anyway. I am just hoping that Man Utd don't try and prise Kane away from us, but with him supporting the club and coming through our youth systems i reckon we will actually hold on to one of our good players for once. I don't actually rate Benteke especially at £32mil so happy Tottenham are looking elsewhere but Llorente is a waste, maybe 3 years ago when we was linked with him but we need pace at Tottenham we have people who can hold the ball up and play the passes and Llorente is one of the slowest forwards around, no idea why more people are not going after Lacazette no doubt he will end up with the scum in red though with the french connection.

I like Kane and hope he stays with Spurs, he needs to consistently score goals so we'll see how he does this season.

Spurs season opener Vs Man Utd at Old Trafford...we will see but i am not holding my breath. Best bit of business is holding onto Harry Kane & Lloris (so far) but great job bring in Alderweireld with our defensive issues last season, middle of the park we are looking pretty good with the youngsters Mason, Bentaleb, Carroll, Winks. We just need a pacey striker to partner Kane who can do great hold up play, Berahino would be a great buy but for some reason we are now linked with Austin who has a very similar style to Kane just not as good.....not sure what they are thinking with that one unless he would be a third choice/injury backup but i would imagine he would be looking for first team football. Pains me to say it but from what i have seen pre-season Chelsea will win and Arsenal won't be far off them

Think you might be pleasantly suprised with the biy Trippier who you grabbed for next to nothing from my boys Burnley. Hope he is given a chance , as once he is in the team, cant see Walker getting his place back Spurs season opener Vs Man Utd at Old Trafford...we will see but i am not holding my breath. Liverpool supporter here. Can we break into top four again? Dunno. Think we've bought better than we did last summer. Should have a decent strike force especially if Sturridge gets fit. Think Milner could be a masterstroke. Fancy the Arse for the title. Bring on the nancy boys.

They mainly buy mid table players and wonder why they end up mid table themselves. But I hear the bin dippers are selling record amounts of Nivea, so it's not all bad news.

I think it will be a fight for 5th for Us & Liverpool again.
