I think as mentioned the base guideline is fine. The 25 posts stops the influx of instant flippers. But think even without any rules stop it. If it's flipped or daft......do we need rules .......or .... Just don't fuckin buy it!!! They will soon go elsewhere when they don't get any action. People will soon learn its a crap place to flip a print so won't bother. I do like members trading and galleries announcing though as adds to the interest and knowledge I love seeing the pics of new shows etc. so I think the less rules the better but likewise we can manage it ourselves by not supporting any bad sale threads and buying it. Listen to the man, well said one rule to rule them all, 25 posts, the rest is up to you guys

I mentioned elsewhere that a bunch of teenage kids manage to self police this rule on a Facebook group without issue (selling trainers/sneakers)

As for not giving the "flippers" attention when they post and they'll go away. They only need one person to buy it and if you really want it you probably will. As well as the post itself, interaction or not, will rub it in your face.
I do think that 6 months as a generell guideline is a bit long, I'd rather just say 1 month. People have settled down and prices also (usually).
Remeber that owning a piece of art is privilege, not a right.

I do feel it is inevitable over time that members with established accounts will want to sell recently released prints at current market value. When is flipping not flipping? After 3 months, 6 months ?

Not happened so far, I think most people seem to feel the same way so doubt whether it's likely to happen. counted them up before and there's only been 29 sales threads, this place seems to be more about talking about art than buying or selling. This forum will just be whatever it becomes, let's just watch how it grows organically

It felt like there weren't many "for sale" threads, and that led me to wondering if that was contributing to the more friendly atmosphere on here?

But then again, when everything is fucked up by too many sale threads and trolls we could always move on to the NotSoFuckedUpBanksyBoard.com. Anyone registered escape addresses already?

Most arguments were definately over sales of new releases, id have thought no sales threads of new releases for 3 months a must, 6 months would be better unless its a good excuse like money for a boob job or somethin. Or just buy something else, there shitloads of good art out there

This forum will just be whatever it becomes, let's just watch how it grows organically Perhaps the lack of sales is because the emphasis on not profiting on here. People don't sell here because they don't want to look like a bad egg. Or perhaps it is as you say, that people who are here would prefer to just talk about art rather than buying or selling. Personally I find sales threads quite interesting and a good starting point to a (sometimes heated) discussion about the artist and their work. I wouldn't like to feel that people are discouraged from doing that. But if the reason for the lack of sales threads is because people would rather talk than trade then I guess all is ok.
