I need to find someone or a company who can cut a three or four layer, re-useable, stencil. The image is a human face and needs to accommodate a 30x40 inch canvas.
I've sent emails to companies I have found on google, but thought I'd open it up to members here as well.
Best, SN

I could do it for you but it would be 'amateurish', as it would be A3 sheets taped together. If you can get it printed and simply want it cutting, then I can do that for you

I could also create the images to give to a printer if needed.

1. North American of a high quality; excellent. "top-shelf vocal talent"
2. British (of a magazine or other publication) pornographic.
That makes me laugh. I learn something every day.

No, no, no...
But a kind of funny double entendre, no? Given the subject matter...
Totally unintentional by the way.

You saying I don't have skills with the ladies?? I thought that's a well-known fact and not a secret ...

And now something completely different (totally unconnected to Aza's top-shelf character): Does anyone have experiences with stencil cutting machines? I read about it but never saw it or tried it out. You what I mean? Something like a printer but it cuts out the black parts instead of printing them? Does it work?

You talking about lazer cutter? Plenty of places have those you can pay to use. You'll need to vecorize your images first.

I have seen those machines though, fairly cheap ones for home. I can't remember the brand names, but j saw a few being reviewed on YouTube.

That's just cheating ... or it's a question of the right justification. You know, we don't become younger, eyesight gets weaker, hands are shaky, the back doesn't like to be bent over for hours and hours ... I'm not talking about myself though ...

You talking about lazer cutter? No, I thought they had knifes? Not sure about it. I don't even know what that category of machines is called so I cannot google for it.

That's just cheating So is stencil art I've had this aimed at me from graffiti artists and I disagree. It's a different form entirely, there is a lot of skill involved in getting the image to look right. I plan my images for hours before I even start to cut the stencil and even then there's a huge risk that it's not gonna look any good once it's painted.

Alas, the tongue sticking out emoticon has lost it's powers. Now everything I say will be taken at face value

someonesbrain, did you mean a home die cutter like the KNK Zing or the Cameo Silhouette? Yeah thanks, that's what I had in mind. I found some more of those doing a google search for "die cutting machine". Now again, anyone ever used something like that?

Ah yeah, the one I've seen is the one skendo mentioned:
This is not something I've actually tried, and to be honest I wouldn't anyway. But it sure seems to do the job.

I briefly owned a Cameo Silhouette. It was okay but a bit underpowered for my purposes, which involved the use of fairly heavy card stock.
