From June 18- 21, 2015 the premier international Modern and Contemporary art show Art Basel will be held in Basel. Leading galleries from around the world will be showing their highest quality artworks. But we do it different!
Although Art Basel in Basel is a leader, they spend little to no attention to street art. So we do! From June 18- 21 we, Urbane Kunst and Streetart.com, curate the exhibition Urban ❤ Basel. With lots of high quality original artworks, AP’s and prints from National and International street artists. Works from Bustart (SUI), Zaira (SUI), London Police (NL), Dome (GER), TelmoMiel (NL), Zed1 (IT), Otto Schade (CHI) and many many more.
For this exhibition we transformed a Tabakeria into a Pop Up Gallery for a week. This Tabakeria is located in the heart of the centre of Basel with many restaurants and bars nearby. The aim of the exhibition is to bring visitors closer to urban art. Therefore several artists will be present during the exhibition to explain the artworks, urban art and street art. But they will also help and inform you if you want to purchase one, or more, artworks.
Besides the Urban ❤ Basel exhibition indoor, different artists will paint on the streets in the centre of Basel. The London Police will paint a wall, also Otto Schade and Dome will leave their marks and Multi Syndicate will be painting a big truck.
At June 17 there will be a private and open Vernissage. The private viewers (on invitation) will be welcomed with a nice aperitif. From 19.00 the Vernissage is open for public.
From June 18 till 21 we are open from 12.00- 22.00. You can find us at Schneidergasse 26, Basel. We are looking forward to see you!
