In the trailer ak47 says there gettin the guy who cast the original drinker statue to make another and they say it will be worth a million quid? Did I imagine that, stoned or what ha?
It all seems a bit weird to me. All this cos he wouldn't pay the extra 100 for a signed print and got pissed cos banksy wouldn't sign his unsigned ,I dunno. Not really into it

Ha ha ha, I'm involved in this to a very small degree. It's a grin. Some lads having a laugh. Those of you that know Linky know he's very good at that, and winding people up. And to those of you who label AK47 as 'jumping on the Banksy money wagon', ask your self how he managed to hire a removal truck and a full team to steal The Drinker within 30 minutes of it going up... Need a few quid to help promote it so there's a kickstarter for it #/story Thought the drinker was up longer than 30 mins as council workers mistook it for a genuine statue an buffed the banksy tag on the side? Yep, here's the pic from wall and piece of when it went up. And here's the picture after the buff. Them council must work fast if ak47 took it after 30 mins

being that this was already covered and done in a few videos by AK47... seems a bit redundant to try and do it again.

But the way I was led to believe it wasn't the fact someone had dumped a bloody big statue somewhere that drew the authorities' attention but the fact that someone sprayed their name on it, and the council were sharpish onto the 'tagging' clean up. I wasn't there. Just what I was told. But if you think Banksy and AK47 weren't both initially involved in this whole publicity exercise, you're wrong... Anyway its a film about street art involving street artist from around the world. That'll do for me.

Just looks like a publicity stunt so ak47 'can rub banksys fuckin nose in it' for not paying the ransom years ago. Looks like a load of crap to me. Anyone could go up to street art in day glow jackets and a crane an take it. Not rocket science. A load of shit

Banksy put it up as a publicity stunt and to take the piss. AK47 used exactly the same principles. He didn't 'steal if for financial gain', that was part of the whole ruse and was never a genuine 'ransom' demand. The whole thing's a piss take mate. As was 'Exit' to a great degree.

Banksy said in an interview that he never liked it anyway.

I just don't see the point? It's attention seeking. And Banksy's better at that too. And Banksy probably destroyed more Banksy artwork in WSM this past week.

Some people can create. Some can only destroy. What's the difference? They are two sides of the same coin. I've always like Hirst's 'A Thousand Years ' for its visceral demonstration of this and, more cerebrally, On Kawara's 'One Million Years'. When you think about it, we are all Castles made of Sand...

While it's true that everything will eventually decay, I still have more respect and admiration for the people that made my car than I do for the person that smashed its windows. There is an appreciable difference between someone that makes something from nothing and the person that reduces it back to nothing. And I'm made of stardust (I guess?) Edit: But my car's windows were made using sand...

I hadn't seen that before. I have the prints and love them. I've always loved that destruction/creation conundrum...

I went to see this last week at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square. I was sceptical but really enjoyed it, there was a lot of laughing throughout and AK-47 does a great job of sending up the 'art heist' and himself at the same time. I think it's on Netflix now? .....or there's a link here itunes.apple.com/au/movie/the-banksy-job/id1171205947
