something like this, yeah? i'd like that better. his stencil work is out of this world, but I don't want a guy in pinstripes and a bowler on my wall

I don't mean this disparagingly but just an observation that it's 7 or 8 years later now and nearly every time i see Nick Walker my mind races back to this:

This is "The Last Ride". Perhaps he's planning to bow out at the top?

I have a feeling as did at his recent show in HK that this is the end of his use of his Vandal characters a he used ending type descriptions/words on a couple of the vandal pieces there. He also showed other types of work at the show. It gets slagged off a lot but I have a feeling he uses the vandal character like a tag so in one sense he is actually suffering because he is a true old school street artist and that's his tag as it were. Where as the newer allocated wall painting is much More detailed etc. Some of the new work he showed in Hong Kong was interesting and will be interesting to see what he puts out if he does drop the vandal thing

Nick's 'mona simpson' was my first ever art purchase, always liked Nick's work but it slowly started going down hill after that second show at black rat press. Then he brought out a burka print and other religious pieces about the pope etc. My favorite print is 'life's too short', The TMA's are great, London and New York, but agree that he's over done the vandal/bowler hat and I really don't like this print either.
Tastes change over the years, but I do regret selling the 'mona simpson'

Call me anal but those 2 yellow chevrons on the horses backside don't sit right for me. They should be curving with the shape of the horse.

nick can cut a stencil, but he needs a team of idea men behind the scenes. He has the talent just very little ideas or imagination imo

I like the 'roughness' of this print, and him being in it is his tag. (I guess it will look great next to Moskow or New York.) I also have a lot of respect for him as he is truly an old school artist who still does what he does best, cut stencils and paints. I like to think that his idea's are his and his alone when he releases an image. And leaves is up to us to decide what his image means. I think that is a great way of releasing art. Makes people think. Yeah i like it!

I saw some of his work from the Hong Kong show and was somehow different. Hopefully that will evolve while dropping the vandal stuff

alexdb & @jeezusjonessnr Yes have a feeling that's what he is upto. Mind that was just my thoughts seeing what he was doing but that's not based on any actual statement or conversation with him. Must confess it's his odd pieces that I like and not the format one's. He had a cracking piece in Hong Kong show that I would have bought except it had a dead butterfly on it and mad as it may seem it would have been a problem at the border if they Had noticed it as sneaking in a dead animal as opposed to how much is the art worth pay the duty so did not get it.it was the cheapest piece in the show but for me easily the best piece. As others have said I would like him to do more new stuff etc although I suppose the Vandal pays the bills as it were and although not selling here maybe it does in the U.S. and Asia. So for him is just an earner etc But really hope he develops the new stuff as it may also really re energies him as well as the viewer

Yeh, they look bent in the original photo, strange that he screwed them up. Will probably look quite good on the wall but its nothing sensational or worth remembering, think it will sell good as an interior design rather than to art fans thou.

it's growing on me, will probably look nice framed up. I think nick should let mr vandal have a fatal accident in his next print though. Or he could send him off to a new job sweeping the streets in a print like mine :-)
