Can we get some pictures posted of some really nice (or valuable) (or both) artwork in some really shitty flats or something? Like terrific art that is clearly the most valuable thing in a 10-mile radius. Come on, some of us must live in modest places, but have lucked into acquiring a valuable piece of art or two. Nice art in expensive apartments and mansions are great and all, but there's only so much vicarious living you can do before you just get a little depressed with it all. Anyone got some nice art in not-so-nice surroundings? Google great art in ugly rooms Ha. Brilliant!

Interesting point – more info? (If you can discuss?) It was actually his Hypostasis release. Details can be seen here on his blog. jeremygeddesart.blogspot.com/MAY 11 On the Hypostasis print release A couple of days ago we announced that Hypostasis would be released as a timed release, but we've changed our minds. After much discussion we feel releasing Hypostasis as a print would be a betrayal to those who have the original Red Cosmonaut print. Hypostasis was a commissioned piece intended as a reimagining of the themes of Red Cosmonaut. As such it has a very similar feel and quality to the Red Cosmonaut. Our prints provide an archive of the progression of my painting, cataloguing where I've been and where I am going. Hypostasis was an enjoyable painting to create, and a fun place to revisit, but its release as a print doesn’t fall within our mantra for what should be released. We're sorry to be changing our minds, and I apologise to those who were looking forward to this release. At the end of the day we are driven by what feels ethical, and this is a decision we feel we needed to make. thanks, Jem thanks blackappleart!

Hey guys, I could do with a bit of advise please... I've purchased an original that I've not received yet. I've been told it's going to be made into a print series. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing? is it ok to have an original that's been turned into a print series or is it better to have an original that hasn't? Thanks in advance dani x Agree with the other reply's. It's a good thing – you have the OG! Well done and well chosen.

I'm looking forward to this one! ------------------------ www.lazinc.com/exhibitions/1306,todd-james-reas-fantasy-island Lazarides Rathbone is pleased to present Fantasy Island, a provocative new solo exhibition by New York-based artist Todd James. The vivid body of hyper-coloured works extends the artist's exploration into current socio-political affairs, continuing to stretch the boundary between the obscene and the humorous. The large-scale paintings depict a fantastical reality far removed from the safety of western existence, seducing the viewer with a seamless mix of luminous compositions and graffiti-infused erotica. The satirical showcase features a striking cast of modern-day Somali pirates, UN soldiers and scantily-clad females, adorned with AK47s and over-sized sunglasses whilst basking against tropical backdrops of never-ending sunsets. James illuminates contradictions in our contemporary landscape with playful scenes loaded in metaphor; armed soldiers balancing cups of tea in armchairs and sexualised women brandishing heavy weaponry. The duality of the work is key to the American artist's long-term practice, carefully balancing stylised animations against the stark reality of the times we live in. Alongside the main gallery presentation James is set to transform a vintage Chevrolet van positioned outside the gallery doors, expanding on childhood references first curated in his Vandal's Bedroom, installed at LA's MOCA and re-constructed during Lazarides' World Domination in 2013. The artist's manifestation of personal spaces draws on fantasy art influences from the analog age of his youth, comprised of a customised cluster of all-American 1970's ephemera. The Fantasy Island chevy will play host to the exclusive launch of James' most recent self-released book. The new publication, entitled Beyond The Gates, features a myriad of heavy metal-inspired swords and sorcery girls in a haze of fluid lines and sensual scenes. Me too denada – opens next Thursday (just got the reminder email). Any NBF members planning on going? A good opportunity for an aprés work lager...

I'm pretty recent to the urban art world, and in no time have covered my walls and have a small stack tucked away in the portfolio. But I keep taking opportunities to buy what I want since those chances may be far and few between. Just curious what everyone else does when you get to this point. I'm guessing you also have limited wall space (even if unlimited funds). Framing is expensive and makes storage or selling far less practical, but at least keeps the buzz going. And it seems strange to buy such moving works just to store them out of sight. What's everyone else do to support the habit? Are you flipping for something new on the wall every so often? Stockpiling in hopes for more walls at your next place? Loads of work, work and more work. Oh yeah, and scratchcards...

Hi, I am a boy. An Old boy who should improve his English. Too late ! I had so manyt things to do that I ve never done ( driving licence, take a plane, learning how to swim ) . So I prefered freedom, liberty, and to run, run far from mediocrity, from angry and violent people, run close to the sun to loose myself in green fields, I have always liked trees, rivers, blue sky, rain etc... I made music, with a lot fo bands,I made a single, I am single now, since 15 years ( but I don't see a lot of women overthere ;-).. At 18, I ve been to live in London then in paris, and as, the music that I done was a bit rotten, I began to paint ( anyway, I have always write, draw, this was not new for me )... What refuge ? In the art. Tonite I am really happy to join you even if I am a bit lost about this situation. Maybe, my French side ;-) Now I will open a bottle ( I stop drinking anyway ) of German wine ( yes they have some good ones - I live in Strasbourg, European capital, because of my ex, ans my kids, even If I do'nt see them a lot - ) that I just brung from the border on my bike. I don't know whay I always feel so British. LOve all Anglo-saxons countries ! They are like me, they love freedom too I guess ! See you soon Buddies, mateys.. MY wine waits me for dinner... " Ok, I come darling !!! " Cheers Dod!

Les Revenants is great TV. Tried to watch the US remake. I got about 10 minutes in and had to switch off. Me too – the remake managed to extract the atmosphere.

A very sensible warning. It doesnt bear imagining what would happen if the two most notorious and feared urban art internet firms went toe to toe. For a start there'd be cardboard tubing and polystyrene packing flung everywhere ;-) Now that looks like fun!
