The XXXXX Book XXXXX is a 300 page full-colour, comprehensive survey of collages, paintings, & sketches by British artist, iconoclast, anarchist, punk, hippy, shit-stirring rebel & romantic Jamie Reid. This visual diary assembles Reid’s earliest graphic ventures out of art school, raw material from his most famous works for the Sex Pistols and unseen flashes of rebellion and beauty up to the present day. In true DIY ethos this book serves up Reid’s Anarchist, Situationist, Surrealist, Dadaist & Druidic influences with wild energy and no explanations: to allow the work to speak for itself, to allow readers to draw their own connections. XXXXX to be released October 2018 on the occasion of a major exhibition of Reid’s work at Humber Street Gallery, Hull. More details to follow. l-13.org/product/jamie-reid-black-queen-screen-print/I kind of like it, but it's missing the "god save the queen" message from the original art. I'm not sure it works without the text?

I had a good look at these on release at the BEAMS store in Harajuku... too expensive even then for a T-shirt. yeah? this one there too? or was this earlier? from FLickr: www.flickr.com/photos/jeyku/4997851803One for the 150 Griffin Tshirts customised for Banksy for the Wrong War demonstration. It has this image on the back and on the front it says "wrong war" and on the sleeve is a stencil of what looks like a guy with a megaphone. It looks like it's "printed" by sponging bleach through a stencil. Here's some stuff that google has thrown up... 'If you were one of the 200,000 people who took part in London's anti-war march last Saturday, you may have spotted 3D from Massive Attack in the crowd donning a black Wrong War T-shirt. His T-shirt is one of a limited edition of 150 which have been co-designed by Jeff Griffin and graffiti artist Banksy. Fifty of the T-shirts have already been allocated, but 100 are now available from The Griffin Concept Store on Portobello Road W11, priced £35 with profits going to CND. If you can't get to the shop, you can order one by calling 0208 960 9607. Griffin, Banksy and CND are also joining forces to organise an evening at 93 Feet East in Brick Lane to raise awareness and funds for the anti-war effort. Scheduled for October 31, the event will feature a host of sound celebrities including 3D and Tony Benn. The full line-up and event details haven't yet been confirmed, to find out more email a request to design@griffin-studio.com.' -2002 Looks like screen printing with bleach gel / emulsion.

Well, the article describes the new art piece as 'mysterious', similar to 'two coppers locked in an embrace', with a similar colour scheme to a piece in Brighton, 2014, with additional pieces to be found in London, New Orleans and Vienna. Laura Starky saw it on Scott Street Bridge a couple of days ago.
So, who knows?

The legendary Mark E Smith has popped his clogs aded 60. Such a wonderfully cantankerous man.
