Any essex based artists interested in chipping in together to setup a studio? I'm interested in setting up a screen print studio with some second hand screen printing gear but don't have the space and can't warrant paying for a property myself. I work full time so wouldn't be able to use during the day unless I take a days holiday. I reckon £10-12k would cover a years lease so looking to share with 3 others. Could even make some money if an experienced printer was interested and could run courses? Any ideas or suggestions also welcome.

Check out industrial units/old mills, usually cheap as chips

Depends what you call cheap as chips. I've looked and the cheapest I have found is £460 odd Pm and that is in a subsidised Artist building around 600 sqft. Also found another place around £500pm. you will obviously have to make some modifications such as washout room, dark room etc and put it all back once finished with. On top of that you have Ratable value probably 5-9k then utilities and thats before you've bought vacuum table/s, exposure unit, washout bath etc....
