Banksy (Dismaland) Weston Super Mare 2015

Wow, what can I say! That was a weekend I won't forget in a hurry.
I spent the whole day there, went again for the evening session and want to go back already. I won't waffle on about what people have said already, so summed up,

Biggest highs for me:

Grim Reaper: watched it three times!
Gallery space: especially James Joyce, Lee Madgwick, Pomet, Banksy and Cauty
Cinema: (while necking a load of beers and chillin in the sun)
Fly Tip Theatre: got a bit carried away while drunk and my other half couldn't get me off this.
Refugee Boats: probably the most powerful piece there IMO. I put my £1 in and instantly regretted it, so after 20 seconds of hitting into dead bodies in the water I just walked away from it, leaving me a bit scarred for life.
Cinderella’s Castle: I wanted to get a souvenir photo, but just couldn’t do it.
Staff: being told by security on entry to get a move on, so I ran through the metal detectors to be then told "don't run or I will shoot you".
Having another go on ‘topple the anvil’ while pissed, I thought it would be amusing that when the attendant held out her hand, I threw the £2 on the floor. She wasn’t amused and threw it back at me, so I then placed it carefully in her hand. She threw two balls at me and then wrote on the other, walked over to me showing ‘wanker’ on the ball. I asked if I could keep this ball and she replied “shit head”, my other half was pissing herself laughing.
Winning a piece on the shoot the bling after 6 attempts, to be then shot in the arse by the attendant. When I said “I will shoot you back”, he replied “if you do I will call security and you will be removed from the park” When I picked my bling off the floor he then continued to shoot me as I walked off.

Small Lows:

No Dismal parade: I think this was an opportunity missed, as I am sure they could have done some great things.
Not getting a balloon: under 14 only and trust me I tried.
Not winning a cardboard fish: my other half did after about 10 mins of trying, when I had a go the rod was swiped out of my hand after about 30 secs and was told ”times up”.
Watching a girl trying to lift a Cauty shield and doing a runner in the shop at the end of the night and security and shop staff obviously pissed off.
Forgetting to buy a dismaland t shirt because I was too pissed and forgot. I did luckily get a Wasted Rita and James Joyce shirt in the afternoon though.

Overall experience was amazing and something I will never forget, some for the wrong reasons!
A venue and experience that I think Banksy or anyone else would never beat.

sturban , I like your story, very very well written... as If I was there too : I think that if we were there together at the same moement, they would have two pissed men and they will become mad with us, lol , we dont care about security ! Do they call the police afterwards ?

My point of view will not be ( I read on Facebook from a photograph girl who think that she is the greatest photograph in the world ( Miss Preston ) that Dismaland is just good because of the staff, that the staff makes the show lol ! I don't like comedy, I mean American comedies as in movies, I like art and rats, laughing and loving ( please don't touch ! ) and I respect everybody !

I would not pay a travel if it's to see people talking to me as sh.t. No violence of course, but respect - would they do this, with any VIP singers, actors and actresses ? NO ). I have been a lot in the streets , and If the staff would talk to me or treat me like this, I would make my dismaland serial killer ( they need one ! No fights until now ? ) ..
I know that it's a game, but nope, my old gypsie blood have no border nor color...
Freedom and play ! Drink and fun ! I know most of you won't be agree but that's my point of view.

But, in the other side, maybe I should be in live to understand these dismal or bad jokes, and to know how all the staff and the show are lovely.

This week sees the opening of the DSEI Arms Fair (the world’s largest arms fair held every two years in London’s Docklands). To commemorate the occasion Dismaland’s museum curator Dr. Gavin Grindon alongside the #RiotID project have produced a guide for tracking the manufacturers of weapons used against public protest (the tear gas used against pro-democracy protests in Egypt in 2011 and Hong Kong in 2014 was made in Derby). These are available in the park from today, but obviously are of limited use in Weston super-Mare so we’re asking anyone who might find this helpful to disperse the PDF below. It also comes in Arabic…

I hope this isn't considered a sick question, but has anyone had a really close look inside the Cinderella carriage? I didn't want to see weird by getting too snoopy, but I was just wondering what it's like inside? Is Cinders the only passenger or is there a prince in there too?

Yes, Of course, a bit weird ( still have some bages, tapes and singles ), but better , I mean more creative and anarchic - for me even if I like them - than Rip Rig or Pigbag ( easy litnenaign comparinglol ) .
The  Pop group break all the rules and  it  was the logic next " thing "  or " wave " ( was not ) after "  after punk " ( ska was apart then  )   as these bands as PIL, Cure ( sic ) , even Human league, etc..
Pop group were really apart, and had the smell of punk mind ! Breaking all rules !
I think that the bands who made a lot at the beginning  of another kind of music were Ganf Of 4, even The Mekons, first single, and this fabulous band, the best band of UK and of the world then : REMA REMA  ( I sold the maxi unfortunately ) ! But  a big thank to the Pop Group, really apart of all ! ( the bass is fantastic  - the video that I ve found is a bit strange, but you have on it the two singles )



The sleeve of  record is one of the best I ve ever seen !
