I will be going to Amsterdam next month, I was wondering if anyone can give some recommendations. Can anyone recommend galleries, walls, or local artists (contemporary or street). I was thinking it would be nice to pick something up while I'm there. Don't we have a Dutch Master on this forum?  |

Grab a free ferry from the back of Centraal across the Ij. The Eye Cinema is well worth a look. May be something cool on.
Handiedan is in Amsterdam as well, she's very cool.

If you pm me I can show you around at NDSM where there is an indoor location with large murals of Dutch Street Artists/Graffiti Artists. Plans are also to invite foreign artists but that will come at later stage. There is also a show of Bortusk Leer and another street art festival in Amsterdam. Name Gallery is located in NDSM these days. |

Tomorrow my fave dutch urabn artist "Sit" is opening a solo show and this will rock! make sure you go there and they have some very nice prints left ;-)
The show is at Kallenbach gallery in amsterdam.
It would also be possible to visit my studio if I am there when you are ;-)

Its opposite the London Police Mural and if you are lucky you can join for dinner or so, since they have a large kitchen with dining table in the gallery. Currently there is also an expo of 5 years anniversary of Amsterdam Street Art. |

went to Stedelijk this weekend and was good, thought better than Tate Modern in London (some awesome peices, a lot smaller, but way less busy).
Van Gogh museum is awesome but queues are ridiculous. Seemed easy enough to book online and avoid them though.

Going to be in Amsterdam for 3 days next week. It is a business trip and I don't have much free time or maybe even none. It is the fifth visit for me and I already saw most of the important art related stuff in town. But thought I would ask if sb (hi @json24 , FAKE and alexdb  ) know if there is something special going on at the moment? Maybe an exhibition or some new street pieces in town? My last visit was one and a half year ago, so everything since then counts as new... And I heard hartenkaas is closed now. So where do I get a good sandwich now? Thanks in advance! |
