Hi all, There's a boom in street art in Portsmouth of late. Fark-fk has been getting some friends down to Southsea to #paintthecity I'll get out and get some pics over the next few weeks, as there seems to be a fair bit happening every week now. Internationally-renowned Portsmouth street artist My Dog Sighs is set to paint at Hilsea Lido. My Dog Sighs, along with and a team of other well regarded street artists from the south coast, will work on walls inside and outside walls the lido on Sunday. Young people in the area have been invited to take part and volunteers will be on hand to oversee the work. My Dog Sighs gained notoriety for his ‘Free Art Fridays,’ where the urban artist put his artwork in public places for people to stumble across and keep. He gained international from the project, and his standing in the contemporary art world has steadily improved to the point where he can boast holding several sell-out art shows. Hilsea Lido has been improved since being taken over by community group Hilsea Lido Pool For The People Trust. The site, built in 1935, reopened to the public last year after being closed in 2008.
