First dreaded speech in my Publuc Speaking class & of course I went w/ "street art". Looking for any quotes from artists & collectors. I'll hit up a few personally but was hoping to get some replies on here. Things such as what first interested you about the movement. What you look for in the pieces or artists you collect. How artist's ideals & anonymity help gain a following. General ideas like that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

Thanks guys!!! don't know if this will help but here's a couple Basquiat quotes I've always enjoyed: “I don’t listen to what art critics say. I don’t know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is.” “I don’t think about art when I’m working. I try to think about life.”

I like some of Ed's quotes..
'The big pay-off was to work as an artist and gain some shred of respect from your friends, who were also artists. But there was never any notion that you could make a living out of art. On the rare occasions you had a gallery show, and sold a little work, well, that was just gravy'. Edward Ruscha

Thanks guys. Just hit up a few artists. I'll potentially be DM'ing a few of you on here for specific collector quotes as well.

Here's a quote i've heard quite a few times
"That shit ain't going on the wall"
Mrs Stender
"If you have a statue in the city centre you could go past it every day on your way to school and never even notice it, right. But as soon as someone puts a traffic cone on its head, you've made your own sculpture." —Banksy
"The time of getting fame for your name on its own is over. Artwork that is only about wanting to be famous will never make you famous. Any fame is a by-product of making something that means something. You don't go to a restaurant and order a meal because you want to have a shit." — Banksy,

one of the more unsavoury ones is.
are you insured ?
how much WAS the insurance ?
as opposed to... " does it NEED to be insured... ! " ho ho
..i always think it entertaining when some people say "I've never sold anything.... flick of the wig... on ebay"
ffs.. get off...
