This might be of no interest for most people here, but I know there are some more members who started this whole art thing with those gigposters instead of street art. So here's the deal: there are some very interesting gigposter shows in Hamburg this week.
First of, a fellow collector of Pearl Jam posters organised the show "The poster printed will remind me" that opens tomorrow and runs only until saturday (23.9.2015). The location is Reeperbahn 116. It shows about 100 silkscreened Pear Jam posters from all tours and by almost all artists who ever were commissioned to do a poster for a concert of the band. If you are a bit more familiar with this topic you know that Pearl Jam is one of the bands that gets artists to create a unique print for almost every show they play. It's one of the biggest poster shows of this kind ever and will be the wet dream of every gigposter - and Pearl Jam poster in particular - collector. Here's more information:

Second, the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg holds the show "Poster Rock". The show is open until November 1, 2015. It is the first show of its kind in Europe – an exhibition of concert posters including around 140 silkscreens and an array of smaller prints. The work includes posters for the bands Sonic Youth and The Melvins, with one section devoted to each of the most important artists: Art Chantry, Coop (Chris Cooper), Mat Daly, Justin Hampton, Derek Hess, Frank Kozik, Dan MacAdam aka Crosshair, Tara McPherson, Jay Ryan, and the artists’ collective Fort Thunder. The exhibition was developed in cooperation with the Hamburg gallery Feinkunst Krüger, the Flatstock Poster Convention and the Reeperbahn Festival. Here's more information:

And last, the so-called Flatstock Europe poster convention is part of the Reeperbahn Festival this week. Location is Spielbudenplatz. Here's some information again:

So, if you are only slightly interested in this whole cosmos of gigposter/concert poster art Hamburg is the place to be this weekend! Don't miss the chance to get three events with just one trip to one of the best cities in Germany. I'll be there on saturday. Keep on rocking ...
