Not that I'd ever want this place to become some sort of expresobeans but what are peoples thoughts on a thread dedicated to art work valuations? Might be useful for insurance purposes?

Andy has offered his services for Banksy's if that's any help
Don't know how it works in the UK, but in previous EU countries where i have lived you can subscribe to insurance for "replacement value" so I had my COAs and receipts and photos of the pieces in my home in a safe box in the bank. If anything got stolen I would need to source new / similar (for OGs) and inform insurers
Being a frenchman; I like my wine. My cellar was burgled and about 100 bottles stolen. Had bought them in "primeur" (Before they are bottled) so years later I was happy to be able to buy at replacement value and insurance just footed the bill.
Can you have this type of insurance in the UK ?

I have thought about selling some of my collection for a proper Banksy print, but then figured selling for cash then buying the print would probably be easier.
edit: Oh, and I'd be in favor of a valuation thread. I think (hope?) there will be less BS hype here and that a valuation thread could be helpful for new buyers as a guide so as to not overpay.

Hopefully your livers are more robust than mine! I have had to cut back a bit. It is painful. Me and sober are not fast friends.

In that case drink moderately, but only the best Plan to open a magnum of Palmer 2000 this week end with a friend, to see how it is evolving. Will drink one for you

Sounds lovely, notmattlMy favourite Palmer is the 1989. Going to drink the 1970 within the next few months, and do dream of at some point to sampling the 1959 and 1961, although given current pricing, it will need to be on someone else's dime, or I'll need to win the lotto. I'm thinking your 2000 will be drinking quite young from magnum (lovely format for longevity, but they age at a snails pace), but undoubtedly delicious!
