Finally managed to buy a large format printer. Here is a 2 metre tall version using just 2 sheets of paper, alongside the 90x60cm canvas version. This would have taken about a thousand sheets using my old printer. Having so many sheets to align and tape together causes real annoyances, so I'm really pleased to be able to use this. Time to find a wall to ruin Thats Nice ! What kind of printer is it?

Thanks cnhThis will make things much easier now as I can cut 90x60cm sized stencils on one sheet now. I'd given up on that for a while as it was just too much hassle. bateman it's a HP Designjet T120. The cheapest large format printer you can get. Seems good though. I'm only printing black and white, so nothing too taxing for it.

The worst part was trimming the margins off before sticking them together, then it not being 100% perfect and the stencils not lining up exactly. Frustrated the hell out me!

Know what you are talking about. The more layers you have the more annoying it gets... Best solution for me is to cut the first layer before you stick together the second one. Than use the cutted layer as a scale for sticking together the second one and so on... But still fucking annoying

Makes things much easier. i've got the same one... very good printer - really the only 24" printer around in that price class, and I've learned the hard way - never buy a used printer another good option is the Canon Pixma iX6820 - only $150 and prints 13x19". use a photo stitch program and voila - large format printing (i happen to have one new in box if anyone wants it cheap or trade)

Oh. I bought a broken Designjet n130r for £80. Been sitting in the garage for 3months. Was aiming to fix it at some point but now thinking of getting an epson for positives.

Can someone with some experience using plotters answer this problem? I have 2 sheets I am joining together, each one is 2 metres x 60 cm. When I align the sheets at the 'top' they do not align at the 'bottom'. Check the following two images. Is this because the printer is not 100% accurate from page to page? I can't think of any other reason why they don't align fully. I bought this printer partly to stop things like this

Things is sometimes they align fine. They are printed from a roll, not sheet by sheet. I don't think there is any over lap things on, they come out with a margin which I have to trim off, so I can assume there maybe some left to right issues if my cut isnt perfect, but not top to bottom. It's doing my head in!

Nah just straight forward printing. I have two separate images, one for each half. The canvas size was set in photoshop to match the paper size. My printer settings are set up to match the paper size too. Just unsure how or why one print out is slightly different in size to the other.

I'm almost 100% positive the borders and/or overlapping are off

I used to use software like that when I was patching many sheets of A3 together. I was getting this type of issues then, and was hoping by not using them and using a big printer instead it would solve the issue. Just makes me wonder that being a budget printer it is not 100% accurate sheet after sheet, Those few millimeters make a difference
