I like to eat for cheap even its been a while that I have not put a foot on a restaurant ... In another way, but tourism too, I think that the Daily Express is the best newspaper in the world ! In France, they are all scandalized by this article ! France is not worth in violence ( funny they forgot Strasbourg , lol ) www.express.co.uk/travel/articles/625772/Travel-to-France-terror-threat-ISIS-bomb

I spent the weekend in Bruges and we travelled from Dover to Dunkirk. On the way back from Bruges to Dunkirk I told my wife it was a short detour to Calais It was a bit of a longer detour though, so I didn't have time to check out the other ones, along with having the family mad at me And to complete , the countryside from Bruxelles, Lille to Calais is awful ! And so grey and sad.. No grass there , only mud and abandoned fabrics, places, shops or factories.. Depressed... Yes north of France is special , that's why they drink a lot of beers over there No grass ? You forgot people from North of France are closed to Belgium and Holland; there are more grass than you think !! Being from Calais myself, I am gonna said that you are very wrong here. Yes, weather is grey and people are unemployed and sad but the countryside is NOT awful. We have the most wild beaches of France (Ambleteuse, Wimereux) and the famous Boulonnais, which are grassy low plains... And a nice little town called Saint-Omer, often dubbed the "Bruges" or the "Canterburry" of Calais (only at 60km of Calais) because this town, occupied by the Flemmish, has plenty of canals (700 km of canals). Also the town borders the largest swamp of France and one of the largest of Europe, people there still live in small crop of lands surrounding by water and go shopping using boats. Saint-Omer was a very rich town, there are fortification (like Bruges) built by the prestigious Vauban, a huge 13th century Roman cathedral with a Rubens, one of the largest organ of Europe and unique astral clock, the town is also home of Jesuit monastery (16th century) and Jesuit college (which was move to Bruge in 18th century); and plenty of abbeys and old schools and two more cathedrals sadly destroyed during the war. This is where they also found Gutenberg Bible (only three specimen) and more recently the first folio of Shakespeare. I agree, from Saint-Omer to Lille, things are getting bad (lot of dying industries)... until you get to Belgium (Flemish side) with their polders and their little tiny cities. Also, one thing that French people often forget... they think that people from the North are sad and depressed, etc. but because we are in-between London and Bruxelles, we are much more open to foreign culture and influence. My dad used to go to UK every weekend to buy LPs and youth here are listening to Belgian radios (when I was a kid, I was listening to Bjork and Nirvana, one year before everybody else in France)... Also soft drugs are nice and very good quality If you go to South of France or Paris, they have badly cut hash and most of them are listening to rural French music like Renaud or Cabrel. Yes we are special, but special better, you see... So next time, you go from UK to Belgium through Calais, don't forget, stop at Saint-Omer !!

Good for you @thebigboss well said. Why well said ( have you something wrong with me ? you are not alone on these fora I guess ) ? Because you think that ZeBigBoss that I know from years on facebook too, makes my comment wrong and will make me shut up ? Nope. He likes his country, ok - I always don't care about mines, being quickly "on the road " -, I understand that. Yes the sea side, with his big clives " full of green grass " and some towns or bocage are lovely, but when I spoke about the North ( I always said that people are lovely there ) , it was all this boring countryside since Beauvais to Calais - I ve done it enough by train or autostop lol - , or from Paris to Bruxelles... We can always find nice things everywhere if we want it , and not if we dont, or have bd souvenirs. It was also to defend Calais and his people ( most of people thinking that they are wrong because migrants or the Banksy not already under plexi ) . I even say that I like the girls form the North ! And that areas near motorway are already crappy and muddy .. So after speaking about the head and the slim of Steve jobs, we are going to talk now about grass and mud ?

Sorry it looked like a rant to me.
My post had nothing to do with your post as mentioned it was just to Thebigboss who it was directed to.
Ps I did not actually read your post and still have not and only quickly scanned the one to me. So I have and have not had any dispute with you even though you assumed so. Nor have I mentioned you prior to your post/rant to me. Thx J

johnnyh - Thanks !! dodcoquelicot - Take it easy doc. dodcoquelicot johnnyh - I forgot to add that it is in Saint-Omer that all V-2 rockets where built and launched. Saint-Omer is home to one of the large bunker dome which hide an underground factory with extensive railways... The Dome is just crazy to see, it is big and bomb-proof - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_CoupoleAdding this to say, there is no needs to send rockets to each other, peace.

A spokeman from the district told that : 1. theyWill protect the artworks with unbreakable glass (yea I think it s a genius idea lol ) 2. That they have choose the glasses in a factory but not ordered them yet ( Ahaaha My compatriots are so funny but.. ) 3. Artworks are not yet destroyed ( great news !! ) 5. But one wood has been taken off 4. The district will put themselves the plaques of glass unbreakable ( is not it plexi or Perspex ? :-D ) 5. They will try to put them on the walls next week ! Yes, we can say that , France are not used to have Banksy 's artworks in its streets ! m.lavoixdunord.fr/region/calais-la-ville-va-proteger-les-oeuvres-de-banksy-avec-ia33b48581n3224407

Georges lagouge the owner of the wall is a bastard, he is ready to sell the building or the wall ! www.nordlittoral.fr/accueil/banksy-rue-de-la-tannerie-a-calais-le-proprietaire-de-la-ia0b0n271568" Georges Lagouge was discovered happy on December 12th owner of a wall chosen by Banksy: “I am not disgruntled to have that on my candied wall” it, with a bit of mischievousness. Disgruntled, one would not be it more in his place. To recover a stencil key set of the street artist with dimensions of the moment on its wall, it is not given to everyone. When the municipality contacted it to propose to him to protect the graffiti, he did not hesitate a second more. For as much, the owner takes care well not to pack: “It is told me that I am lucky, that I will make beautiful a plusvalue on my building. But, you know, I am dubitative… I wait to have sold it to know so really there is an appreciation. ” Georges Lagouge does not live more in Calais, so that it re-examined his wall only in photograph. “I had envisaged to repaint it. I believe that I will change opinion… But seriously, work would be denatured. I believe that the artist chose this wall in particular because it allowed an effect of horn the eye. ” In terms of sale, Georges Lagouge, considers initially the entire building, but after all… “If somebody makes to me an offer for only work, I can also consider it. I know that is done, but I do not know how one can extract it from the wall. I all am willing to study which one will want to quote to me well. And I will let the purchaser find the best solution to remove it. ”

Think the writing is terrible and turns the piece into something else which is a real shame. Alters the context and really really poorly done.
Now I see why they end up covered in plastic or the owner flogs the wall.

These may not be that old as looks like could be someone cleaned the nose. If you blow the face up the face is red and there is red paint
So could have been done at same time by same idiot who did London calling
