A rare chance to buy this limited edition print by Bristol's B*stard Boy the irreverent graffiti artist; Banksy. 'Love is in the Air' is one of his trademark pieces from 2003. Unsigned print purchased for myself by a friend from one of the first exhibition's - ever! of this, now, world famous artist. I have contacted Pest Control to authenticate it, which is not far off, so be assured it is an original. Please don't contact me asking the price, only sensible offers considered, no time wasters please. Hand numbered 291 of 500. Size: 70cm x 50cm. Photos here: www.gumtree.com/p/arts-crafts/banksy-love-is-in-the-air-the-flower-thrower-limited-edition-print-unsigned-/1150520378I've quoted the original sale post here as I expect them to remove the post.

emailed Pest Control and they asked if you could please take the print out of the frame and take more pictures before they can make a decision as to it's authenticity (see they do respond quickly very often )

I've quoted the original sale post here as I expect them to remove the post. So, posterbob, would you mind explaining this..? It's a bit off-putting, to say the least!? I'm assuming you have a reason...

The print is still for sale..let me know if you are interested. As indicated previously; we have applied to Pest Control so should hear soon! forced to sell due to lodgers non-payment of rent! Otherwise, you would have had to prise it from my cold, dead hands!

No offense, anakid, but better off selling this once you have COA from pest control at hand.

Gee, let's see. Probably because I paid you for the print on Friday. You then racked up 25 nonsense posts and listed it for sale here on Monday after the funds had cleared into your PayPal account. That's probably why I know this is a scam. You still haven't refunded me. Pull up a chair guys, this one is going to get good. Mods I have a full email chain proving I sent her money on Friday, two days before she listed it here. So, posterbob, would you mind explaining this..? It's a bit off-putting, to say the least!? I'm assuming you have a reason...

I gave her a deposit on Friday with the understanding that full payment wouldn't be sent until the COA was in hand. She then tried to sell it here Monday.

Fishing to see what the agreed price was....as she clearly was after a bid up...any clue? Is it safe to assume the deal was agreed through Gumtree, the OP then thought 'hey, lets try my luck and see if I can get more on here' without realising the buyer was here too...or is that just too obvious?

Is it safe to assume the deal was agreed through Gumtree, the OP then thought 'hey, lets try my luck and see if I can get more on here' without realising the buyer was here too...or is that just too obvious? Well, actually the BS gets better. I saw the sales thread here and immediately sent her an email. She then claimed that this account wasn't hers. Apparently it was her husband's. You know, just an account with her name, that uses English likes hers (she speaks ESL) and has a female gender icon. So, she claimed that even though she was selling this to immediately pay some bills, and apparently was in a bit of debt, she neglected to tell her husband that she sold the Banksy on Friday and was paid for it. So he, unknowingly, racked up 25 posts and then made a sales thread here. When I asked her about it, the original post was promptly deleted, but she still had yet to speak to her husband. An hour later (I gave her an hour to refund me, she did not and still hasn't) she tells me he made the thread because well, when you sell a Banksy to pay bills, you don't tell anyone. I don't know about any of you but when I sell a print to upgrade and make a profit I give my girlfriend a high-five and we go out to dinner.

There isn't a court in the land that would find me guilty...as with your fraud claim, your grasp of the law seems fuzzy, to say the least. You accuse me of fraud, but I believe you are the one that is guilty of underhand, fraudulent behaviour. You agree a sale, then demand your money back...with scant reason. Despite this; I say I will pay you back...and you still keep on ranting?! I guess this is what happens when someone has more money than sense; you spend your life worrying about being ripped off...so much so you end up loosing...You have serious trust issues!!

I've wondered this before - apart from a moral compass, what's stopping people with a backdoor print adding a number and getting a coa? Must have happened, right?

Apart from the obvious, you would need to know of an edition number that wasn't already registered (hence most covering the number on a legit print) and if you try, you have to send all photos, front, back etc, and if any doubt, they will ask that you take it in for inspection. Not impossible, but highly difficult and unlikely as the original owners name would be on the books.

Bugger, totally miss this. Damn you mid week drinking. I'm hoping this is not a scam and just a inexperienced seller, that said if this is a scam, they have tried to sell to the wrong member in seasoned collector poster bob.
please let us know the outcome either way guys.
