Hi everyone, my name is David. Discovered art through graffiti and hip-hop culture in the 90's. From pure graffiti, my taste evolved throughout the years first towards abstraction and then towards hyper-realism. Listing the artists I like would take too much time as I follow quite a lot of them and love spending time in galleries or travelling to art fairs across Europe. I will post pics of the pieces I have if you are interested. I also regularly post pictures taken during my various trips on instagram ( dsmdj) if you want to have a look at the artists I follow. Looking forward to share about our passsion for art. Peace.

Abstract to hyper realism. I get that journey. I'm still enjoying both. Would like to see some work.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome ! So... here are a few pics of my little collection. Since I don't have an unlimited budget, I made the choice to buy less but originals (whenever possible) rather than buying prints (that can be quite expensive and get even more expensive when taking framing into account). So here you go with a selection (hope it will work) that I believe is representative of my journey to-date (in advance, sorry for the relative poor quality of the pics) One of my first acquisition and favourite artist: Jonone - a graffiti artist who took a very abstract direction and who made me discover abstract expressionism. imageshack.com/a/img903/1526/ep3XKR.jpgGetting to know abstract expressionism, I wanted to create a bridge between my Jonones and the past, the artist's inspiration and managed to find this beautiful Paul Jenkins - one of Jon's influence. Past and Present united. imageshack.com/a/img903/1584/OopNAB.jpgI then came across Jason Seife that I found very interesting combining old Caravaggio paintings with abstraction... imageshack.com/a/img905/349/BWDqvr.jpgWhich led me to explore further figurative urban artists and I fell in love with this Brett Amory - love the atmosphere of this one and the work around light. imageshack.com/a/img911/6072/OuScDp.jpgI kept on and decided that I needed a piece that would be representative of hyper realism. I was following Dan Witz for years and decided it would be time to get one. Quite a sacrifice but the light on this painting is just amazing... imageshack.com/a/img633/3336/6Co3sm.jpgimageshack.com/a/img910/9025/C4WHGx.jpgThis was followed by this little drawing by Lister imageshack.com/a/img907/81/SUrkqI.jpgand I am now back into abstract with my most recent purchases: Alex Kuznetsov imageshack.com/a/img908/303/VOAWI8.jpgand going even further into abstraction with this painting by Dale Marshall (not my pic as currently at the gallery) imageshack.com/a/img903/9789/7KoWvI.jpgand finally - my two favourite limited prints: Cleon Peterson and Vhils (hand finished) imageshack.com/a/img633/3554/useVQq.jpgimageshack.com/a/img633/2950/AxvE0i.jpgThat's it for now! Looking forward to your thought on it...

Hi All, I'm a very long time member of another banksy forum. I've been very slow in registering on this one but thought now is the time. Dismaland rekindled my frequency and interest in keeping up to date with the art world we all know and love. Looking forward to participating where I seen necessary and hopefully coming across some old familiar members. I've had quite a few Banksy items in the past (still have a semi good collection) and have been following since about 2003 so not a newbie Cheers Retro
