Hi all, Just a short introduction. I'm Murk, live in The Netherlands, love (street)art and doing some stencilart myself. Been following a lot of (artrelated/artmaker) accounts on instagram and was curious about the forum, so thanks for the approval. Greets

Is it mandatory? if I don't collect I have to get my own work out? I write and tag and have no desire to be rich and famous from it so with all due respect I'll keep my work to myself. What have you shown, I don't see anything from you so am not too sure where you are coming from. I came here for graff but there is very little. Looks like I either have to invest or be a stencil artist to fit in here

Hi Everyone, I've been a member since this forum started but haven't been on it much until recently. Mostly a silent observer. Now I'm in the market for a couple of choice items and what better place than "the other forum" to look for great pieces of art! I started collecting when my wife was looking for art to put in our newly renovated bedroom, she found a couple nice Lora Zombie prints. When I saw them I started buying every Lora Zombie print I could find until I had most of them. Then I found Exit through the Gift Shop and I was absolutely hooked on Urban and Street Art. I then joined this forum and have been introduced to so many amazing artists!! My collection is currently around 30+ pieces, I've tried to diversify my collection since the Lora Zombies and try to buy one piece from each one of my favourite artists. I've done well getting Eine, Mau Mau, Dran and Faile, the only one out of my reach is Banksy! I missed the boat by a couple of years it seems. My greatest moment over my time collecting so far was meeting Shepard Fairey when he was in Toronto on his mural tour. I got to watch him paint the Obey Eye for two hours and when he came down got to hang out with him for a while. He was a great guy and very interested in the 6 pieces of his that I have and my thoughts on them. He signed an empty can for me and took a couple pics, such a great day. I'm always on here looking for other great artists I don't know about and really enjoy reading and learning from all of your posts. I never really liked art that much before because I don't understand contemporary art but when I found Street and Urban I fell in love with the humour and messages they communicate. Nice to meet you all. Brian

Hello! I am a big fan of graff and street art in general. I used to be on UAA but found the guardians to be a bunch of cunts, so happy to be here!

Good evening *puff* ... I imagine you're wondering why I've gathered you here at this hour. Well *puff* the answer is there for each and everyone of you to see *puff* [Watson! Slippers!] Where was I? *pokes more tobacco into pipe* Ah yes, my love of art, or rather, our love of art. I may be moving amongst you *lights tobacco* and asking a few questions *puff* but please continue as you are. Good evening *puff*.

Another migrant. Thanks for the approval and please don't send me back there. I'm mainly an abstract enthusiast and enjoy graffuturism but i'm open to everything as long as i feel something powerful. Seems the air is fresher here, glad to be yours.

Welcome and my tastes have changed (getting old ) and been liking wanting to buy more abstract work. Who you into? I just got a piece from Remi Rough and on my wanted list there is Poesia, 108, MadC and Hayuk. Not abstract but I just discover the fantastic work of Zaria Forman, which paint with her fingers magnificent icebergs in order to raise awareness on climatic change. But i'm afraid her artworks are way out of my league...

I like the look of Remi Rough stuff and hes a nice bloke, but i see it more as decorative than actually saying anything. Yes, I know that seems a rubbish point to make, but I dont get anything emotional from it, but more than happy to have his stuff as wall hangings

It's interesting you say he's a nice guy. I have not met anyone with a good word to say about him. I find his work vacuous, pattern making nonsense, like Cashman. Like alcopops, alright for a momentary buzz but ultimately a purchase you will regret.

Hi, I got into street art in Madrid, moved to Dublin, discovered Banksy and old eBay Banksy Forum, Wallkandy,... Interesting to see that there is a parallel universe, is this forum run by a group or an individual? Cheers

I think it was just one person running the forum, very knowledgeable and helpful, but I don't know why it was closed

They are emotional though, by contemplating them i find peace and joy. It's interesting you say he's a nice guy. I have not met anyone with a good word to say about him. I find his work vacuous, pattern making nonsense, like Cashman. Like alcopops, alright for a momentary buzz but ultimately a purchase you will regret. I can make an explanation of my new piece when i receive it if you wish some sense but it seems you don't like this style. Will you be open enough for it ?
