Perhaps I can draw MET to come over...
I think that the trolleys simply represent food... The juxtaposition (I have no idea what this means) of cavemen and trolleys works well because we ALL need to eat... The irony is that the cave man have realized that food is no longer an animal per se, but that it can be hunt already packaged. The empty trolleys are to be filled with TESCO/Walmart products...
Consumerism seems to be a theme in the Banksy's work...
Carry on.

The shopping trolley reoccurs in various Banksy pieces apart from the print.
Off the top of my head there is the street piece with the girl falling with consumer items falling out. That is just off Bond Street I think - home of luxury shopping. There is the canvas of the sharks circling a shopping trolley with gold fish in. One of my favourite Banksy pieces beautifully painted. Also the caveman with trolley on stone placed in the museum. Probably others but safe to say it's an iconic Banksy item alongside the tv.

Consumerism has clouded our gene pool. We no longer operate as an evolved species but have reverted to hunting packaged food, running on treadmills with TVs above them and staring into mobile phones when we should be looking up at the stars.

Consumerism has clouded our gene pool. We no longer operate as an evolved species but have reverted to hunting packaged food, running on treadmills with TVs above them and staring into mobile phones when we should be looking up at the stars. Like Hollywood stars? Just kidding. Yes, consumerism has really messed us up as a species. Unfortunately, it's also messing up the lives of other species as well. The majority of humans no longer focus on what they need to survive or thrive. And for the most part, we're fed a steady diet of fear and avarice. We're constantly bombarded with adverts for things that we don't need, and have never needed. Imagine coming up with a new breakfast cereal (for example). There are already plenty out there and every countless flavour combination. Yet each year, there are new cereals created. Not because there's any need or demand for them. Just because that'll be a new product to sell. Same with most products. They might as well say "STOP BUYING OUR OLD SHIT AND START BUYING OUR NEW SHIT!" And while I love looking up at the stars, sadly I don't believe the stars want us. Or need us. Humans (and possibly all complex lifeforms) are an aberration. I like the Trolleys print though. Makes me chuckle.

Actually, true story, every time I'm in a supermarket and I get a trolley with a wonky wheel, I think of the hunters in the Banksy Trolley image; And how they'd pick off the weaker of the pack.
True story. Dull story, I'll grant you, but I think it gives some insight into..............something.
