I like reading finance pages with a glass of red (getting old). I don't understand half of it, like reading mainly about real estate here in oz. article discussing art here en.artmediaagency.com/118024/are-we-in-an-art-market-bubble/Doesn't affect me I can't even afford framing lol but there's a lot of money tied up in art..

Good read Can't really take it too seriously as art has always been luxury item for most. For collectors who invest and deal, most know the risk, like all investments, nothing is guaranteed. This bubble the journo has written about does not really concern most on here as people or companies (tax purposes) who spend millions on a piece of art, generally can afford to take the hit if it drops in value. And if they can't, they will still find a way to keep up with Mr and mrs Jones next door.

Yeah agree guys it won't affect the rich probably, but there must be a lot of people who have invested their bonuses into say Banksy prints and originals (instead of topping up their pension for the future) since just after CYW came out, price just went up and up ? Not just Banksy and art but vintage cars, wine etc..

jeezuzjonessnrNot sure at Banksy level it's a bubble though. Think it's more that the rather larger and richer contemporary market has got interested in him. So the market looking for his work has got a whole lot bigger and wealthier. So do not see his pricing as particularly bubble based might go down a little at some point but certainly don't see it collapsing. Mind kinda hope it would so could aquire some of the cracking works out there. But just do not see it happening. If anything I see the opposite happening. See his prices although a bit slower still going up unfortunately
