Hello!
New, here's what I do, easier just to show off some key works from my last four years of making and answer any questions later if anyone asks, cheers x
I mainly paint in acrylics, here are three of my favourites, sold and off to new homes...
Three Figures and a Tree
Earthbase4000
'My God! It's full of stars'
I adapt old paintings, sticking 'Entities' in them, some say these are a commentary on surveillance, others a representation of isolation, to me they are monolithic creatures, portrayed as simply and effectively as possible. These are my moneymaker, sold 50 to Germany in the last year and a half, I don't know why Germany in particular? They are so much fun to make...
Here are 'Pub', 'Death in Chilham' and 'Mary(9monthsBC)'
I'll leave you with those for now, loads more at www.jamesoliverart.net
Thankingyou x

Nice ?, kinda reminds me of my sons Minecraft game too Agreed, It is similar. I've been painting like this on and off for 20 years, it's what came naturally and its a nice way to build images (I use a lot of masking tape!) I think Lego, early vector graphics (like from the original Star Wars arcade game) and possibly Nintendo64 games are my main style influences if any...

If I were Jamie Oliver coming on to a forum where Turkey Twizzlers and sugar are kings, the first thing I would say is 'I'm not Jamie Oliver the Chef'

...and here's a few more random pieces. 'Fantasticolour' - A commission I did for someone that wanted a family heirloom pimped up! Acrylic on a vintage oil painting. 'Bus' - My only multiple edition pieces. I did/sold 5 of these. Card, acetate and stickers on a matt photo. Planning on doing New York yellow cab, London black cab, ambulance and police car runs at some point. 'Woman1' - A simple two piece collage (90's Playboy pic on 80's repro oil painting print). The wife works with a bloke who likes my work, he's also a complete tart! I made this and another piece, texted it to the wife to show her colleague and he bought them on the spot - Focussed marketing I believe they call it...

Ha! I did manage a making of a piece from scratch to putting it up on the internet to selling it to money in bank in under 30mins once!
This took a bit longer (last nights creation...)
'Winter is coming' Acrylic on vintage oil painting, 53x32cms - Inspired by Game of Thrones mainly because the title seemed apt.
I go through phases of making these 'adapted' pieces, they are very self satisfying! This phase is coming to an end though as the pull towards bigger, more complex abstract/illustrative works (like the ones at the top of the thread) is calling again...

My last 'Adapted/Entity' piece for a while, taking a short break then returning to doing abstracts... 'Grim' - 43x33cms, acrylic on vintage print. Sold 30/04. ...and this is a giant plug (done on MSPaint) a commission for friends who are crowdfunding for and producing a film about library music.
