So, made a collector friend IRL.
The topic of trades came up. I've never done a trade. I've sold like two things out of the entire collection, one I had doubles of and the other was a drawing that didn't really fit the rest of the collection.
Any advice? Problems people have run into in the past?
Thank you in advance. Craig

so you say are friends in real life? so you can meet up for the deal and such?
ive only done one "big" trade and it did not go great, but i imagine that is not the norm. everything worked out in the end, but there was a lot of hassle and agro when things hit a snag. this trade was done thousands of miles apart, mind you, and only means of communication was email. it has put me off to trading for the most part and i would rather sell to get money to buy what i want now. but that is just my one bad experience.
im sure in person all the issues i had in my trade would not have come up (stuff damaged in transit to me with fingers pointed both ways, etc)

Face to face for sales is really best, but for trades I would say it is a must as you have no recourse if something goes wrong (chargebacks, PayPal etc...)
Else agree with was has been said, sell to raise cash and then buy
