Fake Kaws - yeah tell me something I don't know

There's a Kaws Moonman Trophy on ebay, only this guy says it is a 'factory sample' and is asking £1500 for it. I asked him if it differs in anyway to the trophies given out to winners of the MTV awards in 2013. He said it's exactly the same only without the plaque. So I did some research, and from the outset I can see there are very stark differences. The most obvious things to me were the flag, on the genuine trophies the flag stands perpendicular to the base, on this persons 'factory sample' the flag stands at a distinct angle. The next obvious difference to me was the base, on the genuine trophies it is created in matte black as per the wishes of Kaws, on the statue this person is selling it is very glossy.
I confronted the seller in a polite way about these apparent differences and of course he has stonewalled me. So I find the whole thing very suspicious, and it's hardly the first time a Kaws object has been faked.
There are other things also, the head looks to me to be too small, and the molding looks too smooth, as if a cast has perhaps been taken of a genuine one and has lost detail in the process. All very strange.
