I started collecting in 2007 and all my collection I have bought at cost (one piece wasn't which my misses bought and broke my rule) using the principle if I missed something I just move onto the next release and check it out BUT it meant the ones i missed/liked add onto a list of must haves when i find cash in the future? (Which never eventuates  ) Although my attitude to this has changed recently due to my Taste is changing, into more abstract type works : parla,hidinks,kofie,Jon one,remi rough ,posiea and many more.. Would like little OG's maybe. Like most I had a clear out last year, had nick walkers, dolk etc.in tubes under the bed. Nice to get rid and start fresh. I moan and jest about the wife, but recently she is having a say on pieces, framing etc.. But we have just bought a new place and I am currently doing up the office/man cave so I have 3 walls for my self  Same here on 2007 and same here on entire collection bought at cost I think i now have around 100 pieces up in my house now, the more expensive and in need of UV protection due to where they are positioned are all framed by MFM, the rest are sneaky Ikea Ribba which i do find fit some prints perfectly and match all my MFM framed works. Needless to say none of those are in direct sunlight! I'm leaning more towards originals & hand finished prints nowadays but having a kid who is about to embark upon nursery in 2 months time, I can probably kiss goodbye to my monthly art budget now for a bit. Can't complain though as i've had a decent run over the past 8 or so years and will still pick the odd bit up or sell something in order to fund another purchase. That said i just picked up the Sound of Uzi open ed by Tabby, a Carl Cashman AP & all being well via a member over on the Deathstar Tabby's recent print 'How to be loved' (grey) My name is t3c and i am an addict, pls send help.. |

I think we need a "talk me out of this" thread to help each other

Sin- If it is you from the *other* forum... Welcome! I have always enjoyed your comments... Love the upcoming commission you have of your daughter... Who can say that? Well right now, you're catching me during a particularly lucid period. "Do you really need that?" "Think of the framing cost." "Are you buying it because you genuinely like it or just because he hasn't put an affordable print out for years?" "Don't you think that money could be put to better use?" "Wouldn't you rather put that money towards a life enhancing experience?" "Think how rewarding it will feel to know that you helped buy all those vaccines and mosquito nets instead of that piece of paper." "Feed the baby!"
