Sure it's not to everyone's taste and it's been done to death, but I quite like this, print release up this Saturday at zedsy.bigcartel.comI find that funny ( as funny is the " followers of Banky, some are very good some others not , Zedsy, Zenda ( sic ) , Etsy, Pepsi, Cola, Tabby ( hello mate ) , all these names finishing by an " Y " , Parksy ( <3 ) etc etc ... ), good idea. My only " fear " will be the quality of the paper and printing ...

I actually like it. Maybe because I'll never own a Warhol OG print... Maybe because I tend to root for the underdog... Maybe because my taste in art sucks...
Will I buy it? No... No room on my walls.
Carry on...

Just read the thread on the other forum and there is a heavy discussion going on about the use of the Campbell's soup can motive. Some state that it is used to death and not innovative and only a cheap rip of and things like that. As I have a contract with myself to not post there anymore because of various reasons you all know, I thought why not post my thoughts about that on here In my opinion artists don't have to be innovative and they don't owe us brilliant ideas and masterpieces in a row. I think making art is kind of fun and enjoying to express yourself through creating something. And if someone thinks it is brilliant than it is cool for him and if someone is bored because there is nothing new and no innovation than it is OK too. But why the hell do people argue about if something is good or bad art. Same with music, I like songs my girlfriend says they are shit but we don't have to argue about that and nobody is right or wrong. It's just a subjective view of something... For that piece of art I have to say that I like it. I just like to watch it and in my imagination it looks great framed on a wall. The price tag on the soup can makes me smile and I think it fits perfect. Is it a masterpiece and zedsy the new Banksy? Not in my eyes, but I still like it and don't have a reason to be rude and talking bad about the artist. What is your opinion on the piece? And what do you think about those guys who always know what is good art and what isn't? Is there a definition of what good art is or something like that?

Nothing groundbreaking, but it's a fun piece and much cheaper than a lot of hyped shit. I give him more credit for the fact that he had the balls to put the first print up in dismaland and this in the tate. Like you say, it's not everyone's taste. No different to what Banksy did with Warhols soup can.

here's my take... Warhol's was groundbreaking on many levels. It was also hand-painted which people forget - the dude was a talented artist well before he got into screen printing. the Banksy version was fun - i've always enjoyed his Tesco send ups (though I replace Tesco with Walmart). Zedsy's take has it's charms - but it's not saying anything new, and technically it's nothing special - I assume a Photoshop job, but could be wrong. Putting it up at the Tate though - that's the kind of stunt that could only be pulled once and have any impact... no one can take a urinal to an art show and get the same reaction DuChamp got. so with that being said - Zedsy's piece is maybe a bit clever, and would no doubt look nice on a wall, and put a smile on the face of a Warhol fan, but I'd say it's just a sort of visual pun. reminds me of this t-shirt I wore when I was 13 and thought I was so cool when I wore it. I don't think Soup Can, Marilyn, Venus Di Milo, Mona Lisa etc. parodies are off limits, but each derivative piece that pops up dilutes the original's meaning, and unless that's the intention behind it, or it's trying to tell us something new, then what's the point? the best pop-artists are great because they, to paraphrase Robert Hughes, they have their fingers on the pulse of what's happening. or because they're making us see something plain in a new light. or telling us something we don't know, or satirizing something we think we know but have it wrong so all this to say - if you like the print - buy it. no judgement. if you don't like it, don't buy it, but try to be aware of why you don't like it, rather than quickly dismissing it and other people's tastes

Fun piece and much cheaper than a lot of hyped shit is a good and small description for the "book" I wrote above

Get all of your points and understand some comments on the other place better now. Not the mean once, but some maybe aren't that bad as I thought before, only a little bit short...

Fun piece and much cheaper than a lot of hyped shit is a good and small description for the "book" I wrote above I am sure the poisoned apple was the first he did, which was put up on the outside wall of the gallery at dismaland. These were all hand sprayed stencils, not prints. I think the initial release were about £15 each with some going to charity. I'm not aware if he was known prior to this or if he has done any previous work, but I doubt it. I don't like the way he signs his name in a similar style to Banksy(and JBoy and many others) People should let their work speak for itself without imitating others, imo

I just visited his cartel site and noticed the Batman print. I had forgotten I bought it; I just don't remember where I put it. Ha!
Re: JBoy... The guy had a crappy signature but changed it when he went upscale (read: he opened up his internet site with fake canvases). I guess he figures unsuspecting buyers may believe the photoshops are from the Bansks. You cannot make this shit up.
Carry on...

Great comments here with a mention to Fed ! (?and hopefully there is not Nordicstar spying me ,lol ) Anyway I prefer this one ( I just have a doubt about the paper quality ... Looks very cheap but I can be wrong ) than the poisonous Apple one, a big easy and I m fed up of Disney parodies ( if street-artist would be in, they should attack Pixar or Miyazaki, who care now of theses old comic animations as Mickey etc.., ) . I like the sticker telling bargain , funny idea...

It’s the same things on all forum. A lot are posting ( or has choosen another way to chat, quicker ones : there are groups on Discords, WhatsApp etc .. ) In fact people are much interested to buy and sell to sell and buy, but rather to buy to already sell the day after.. Another generations I guess ( as I heard some youths that knows a lot social media, crypto money, hackers, geeks, flippers, can send you directly the link with the artwork already in the cart, paid etc .., ) Weird world… NFts will make this more difficult for old dinosaurs as me … I took off the app anyway, so weird and insane… Crypto words too.. it seems all fakes …
