Photos from the Del Toro exhibit at LACMA. Includes props and costumes used in movie sets. He has an obsession with monsters, and collection of dark art, books, and show pieces that inspire his work. I have exhibit brochures and postcards if anybody's a fan, DM your address and I'll send a couple of items.

Del Toro's sketchbooks really are something else – here's a link to him discussing his new book. www.openculture.com/2014/03/frightening-sketches-by-guillermo-del-toro.htmlWish I could drop by for the exhibit, what a great collection of stuff and great pics Adamsactor!

Thanks for posting! I had forgotten all about GdT's exhibit... I have admired him since I watched Chronus... I will be heading this Saturday... And then next month LACMA will have a Picasso and Rivera exhibit... Rivera is by far my favorite street/populist artist... Time to buy an annual pass Carry on...

I passed on the annual pass twice in the last three months... silly me, as I'll be heading there again next month. I had seen Blade II & Hellboy but became an admirer after watching Pan's Labyrinth. I also caught the Stanley Kubrick exhibition a couple years back, and missed the Tim Burton, which I super regret. Currently at LA LOUVRE, Venice Beach, there is a great show "Roll Call", reception tonight... I highly recommend you stop by if you have a chance, I did a walk through last night... will post pictures soon. I'm testing a new photo upload platform.

Great link adman Thank you. He has kind of a grim tone and demeanor. I remember reading he'd lost his notes and sketchbook to Pan's... left it in the backseat of a taxi.... Read here. If it's ok with you, I'd like to send a program which list all the pieces from the show and folds out to reveal a photo of the collection as placed in his home office, along with a few postcards.
