Possibly one of the most incisive critic and writers around - revolutionised how art is considered. His texts are still standard issue for Universities. His programmes and writings touch upon the very essence of the fundamentals behind this grim mutant we call street art. he even touches on the monetarisation of the image. Nothing posted on here about him and I have just checked the death star and I see there is one similar post with a pitifully poor reception. This does not surprise me.
This is prog 1 in his groundbreaking series based on his writings. if you have not heard of him, then give 30 mins of your life to watching this and see it if whets your appetites.

This excerpt from a piece in The Architects' Journal made me smile:
'Picking up the Booker Prize in 1972, he took the opportunity to excoriate its sponsor, whose corporate largesse could be traced back to Caribbean sugar plantations serviced by slave labour. He then promptly donated half his prize money to the Black Panther movement and used the rest to fund A Seventh Man (1975), a book produced in collaboration with Swiss documentary photographer Jean Mohr, focusing on Europe’s abuse of migrant labour.'
