I just read through the banning thread, and i had some witty comments to make, and its been locked, so my fun has been spoilt, and i feel rather unsatisfied. Thanks for that

There should be a more discreet *shakes fist at sky* section for members - even if just to keep the search engine harvest more patalable
Locking of threads is worse than hitler though. Even Stalin didn't lock down threads in his reign of terror. Pol Pot neither.

Yeah, it makes sense to keep some threads visible to signed in members only. No need to scare away browsers or potential new members.

Palatable(sp as I am dyslexic) Pearl clutching : en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pearl-clutching - what upper class women used to when confronted by the threat of footpads and highwaymen/often used by Agatha Christie and John Creasey as a convenient portmanteau trope for shock /horror in their formulaic but extremely popular crime novels Perceived slight is all about.. well this sorta covers much of it : samvak.tripod.com/journal86.html

Perceived slight article is fun to read... Note how the thread was locked due to a fake narcissist of "explosive" type, too bad the existence of fake narcissist it is not mentioned in article. I often quote Freud's definition of "pedant" when I meet people like this on Internet. Clearly similar thematic, it is all about ego ! The pedant is he who finds it impossible to read criticism of himself without immediately reaching for his pen and replying to the effect that the accusation is a gross insult to his person. He is, in effect, a man unable to laugh at himself." ―Sigmund Freud, The Ego and the Id
