Not that bad I would say... At least he is out there and painting the streets. The "call the police" one is very funny!

Could you clarify what you mean by "the nerve"? It is unclear to me whether you are using it in a positive sense (that he is getting up) or a negative (that his work is poor and that he has been getting attention because of who his dad is). In relation to the former, my understanding is that Brainwash owns real estate in LA. I suspect that some or all of these Hijack paintings have been made on those family-owned buildings. I should make clear, however, that this is just speculation on my part. Edit: I see that the last photo is from London.

Agreed with Peter... it's not clear.. When I have seen artworks by Hijack, the" hidden son " :-) , I saw a lot of cats ( Blek The Cat ? ) and a lot of - some are a bit weak but in streetart we find all and nothing :-) paints from a copycat ( even a Black andWhithe pic that made me think ( a very little bit ) to Cocteau ) http://instagram.com/p/BOV5XeTjhpZ Jean Cocteau was , is , a master : http://instagram.com/p/BVGmmkjDyHp

I mean the nerve to blatantly rip off Banksy's whole, I dunno if style is the appropriate word here.... more like essence, especially considering the MBW/B connection

Even the photo staging is a blatant rip-off

I'd actually find it highly amusing if he takes after his dad and employs a team to paint those street pieces while he watches from a nearby wheelbarrow.

I'd also love it if his name is Jack and his artist name came about because that's what everyone says when he gets wheeled into a room.

and I'll be honest in saying I genuinely like some of his pieces.... just wish he'd show a bit of originality... what's the point of being an artist if you're not expressing yourself in any unique way? at least MBW has what could be described as a distinct style.... I'd argue it's god awful, derivative, and looks like a case of spray paint exploded and landed on a stack of popular art books, but at least he's tried to find a voice his own

If he's into it, he'll keep at it. I hope he has the motivation to keep pushing himself and improving. Can't be easy to be an artist if you've seen your dad make a fortune from splattering paint onto other people's creations. I hope he finds his own voice, so he can be true to himself and any fans that may come along.
Failing that, go for a gimmick.
Cat/rats. Cats with the heads of rats. Spray them all over the capital cities of the world.
Crats.
Anyway, I hope he does some good in the world.
I'm trying to be more positive these days.

Or he likes to self-medicate.
Or he's hijacking his dad's art career.
Or he's really tall and balances a tiny car on his head.

he is 25 years old (?), he is painting walls in the streets (it's impossible that his dad owns all of that buildings), he is copying the style of banksy (which have many done before and there are still many too come), he profits from the fame of his father (which isn't really his fault i guess) and selling more than he should (not really his fault too)... of course you can critize him for all of that, but I have seen worse, like people who are not painting the streets for example i don't know him, but i guess he has fun doing what he does and it's not only about the money. at the moment he won't win a prize for originallity, no doubt. but maybe we should give him some time and see if he developes a little bit more of his own style... only a suggestion of course does anybody really know if he has "helping hands" from his daddys art factory? if not, i stay with my first comment: not that bad...

I just hope he develops his own style - it would definitely be a good way to distance himself from MBW. I look forward to seeing his work hopefully progress considering how much real estate his dad and uncles own - I wouldn't be surprised if he had permission to paint on all of those walls... which then starts the question of is it vandalism, art, or just a different form of advertising?

You are too good with him , it's crap ! He is lucky to be the son of an artist - that is not really an artist too - and I won't complain about him : In cinema , movies, music and now streetart, they are all " the son of .. " and we see them in cocktails and they are helped etc ... Take a simple guy : he has to Do his own name, to buy spraycans and paint, to have space etc etc .... No pity for this kind of personnage who makes copycrap ( as his father lol ) I ve nothing against you my dear dr Plip and are not offensive, I'm just waiting for my first artwork coming from one of my preferred artist with no name apart Plip : YOU ! For America !
