Gents I'm looking at buying a Silver Flag that's framed. Owner doesn't have COA though does have purchase receipt - print number isn't shown on purchase reciept. I'm guessing the print number will need to be obtained in order to get COA? Would be grateful for confirmation

Tread carefully, receipts can be easily faked. May want to check out references or with PC to see if a print with that number is currently registered.

Tell them to get a COA.
Don't entertain a Banksy without one.

Definitely wouldn't buy without COA, just trying to establish if frame needs to be opened up in order to get print number (numbering is on back of Flags print) which I presume is the case ie I presume pest don't issue COA unless print number can be stablished from the print itself?

Ive just put through a number of requests for change of registered owner to PC and i had to take pics of signatures, edition numbers and COA's so to attain a new COA the current owner will definately need to take a picture of the edition number.

Yes they will need to deframe as PC need pics of back. From experience this is when you find out its dry mounted

I honestly thought at the time a flags drymounted would be irreversible, was it Graham B?

I remember when you posted about that to! Amazazed that Grahem B got it sorted - great that he did. I've asked the seller about the way it's been done already as I remember your story. All seems fine but will double check with the framers that did it!

How well do you know the seller if he is a close mate ok but if not you will be taking a lot of risk if not out of the frame phot'oed etc. You can then check the edges, any tape marks etc whether dry mounted. Framing can cover a lot up
You can emai PC with the pics and they will tell you if its real or not even with out it having a COA.

the fact that it's a Silver Flags makes it a little easier to make the decision, IMO. The paper it's on is very distinct and hard to work with. If you're able to check it out in person and it's the right paper, there's a really good chance it's legit

Soooooo many Banksy fakes out there I'd definitely get a COA before buying.
